POSITION SUMMARY

Kelvion, one of the leading global manufacturers of heat exchangers is currently seeking a Production Material Planner to join our team. This individual will be responsible for ensuring consistent and adequate supply of materials are available for production operations. He/she will Coordinate with other members of the production departments regarding production goals, timelines, etc. This individual will track production volume and monitor customer demand patterns, while scheduling and overseeing the supply and delivery of materials and products. The Production Material Planner will develop a production schedule detailing all tasks and when they should be completed by to meet predicted completion date. The ideal candidate should have the ability to forecast the correct volumes of materials, goods and products to Kelvion from our supply chain companies.

OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

To Ensure materials and services for production are available on time and under requested conditions for day-to-day business execution and for the long-term company goals.

PRIMARY CUSTOMER FOCUS

To ensure Kelvionโ€™s Standard of Excellence, which includes quality, safety and functionality, is evident in the work completed by the Material Planning Team, guaranteeing customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Decides on date and quantity on materials and services where we already know in advance where to buy from and under which conditions and sending out the corresponding PO to suppliers.

  • Responsible for material planning and supplier scheduling processes.
  • Plan, assign and develop the necessary personnel of the under his/her

direct responsibility, ensuring the correct application of tools and policies on training, career path and evaluations.

  • Make the appointments and evaluations of the personnel under his/her direct responsibility according to company rules.
  • Assure the availability of Materials and Services at the required dates according to the company needs.
  • Define the right Material planning and ordering processes (MRP, reordering point, spot order, etc.) for each type of material or services, taking into account the key related business conditions such as customer orders lead time, supplier lead time, availability and reliability of bill of materials, etc.
  • Manage and execute the defined process of receiving supplier confirmation for the received orders. Manage and escalate, if necessary, such cases in which those supplier order confirmations contradict, totally or partially, the requested purchasing conditions.
  • Trigger all necessary actions with the Purchasing function when it is not fully defined the source and the purchasing conditions of the material or services that are about to be requested. Escalate to the same function the cases that cannot be resolved by the Material Planners when suppliers raise concerns or reject totally or partially the received order.
  • Provide regular visibility and reporting (internally and externally) of supplier on time delivery performance according to the defined company measurement and reporting rules.
  • Escalate proactively to the Purchasing function and other company key stakeholders, the critical cases of suppliers not meeting or being at risk of not meeting their contractual obligations (delivery date and quantity mainly).
  • Closely liaise with Purchasing activities as to strive for better contractual terms with our suppliers related to the optimal availability of materials and services to the company (lead times, minimum order quantity, Incoterms, batch sizes, packaging conditions, delivery frequency, etc.)
  • Maintain a close interaction with other company related key stakeholders such as Sales, Production and Engineering in order to take into account their particular needs and provide them with relevant feedback about the development and execution of the assigned tasks.
  • Implement and execute Procedures, Operative Instructions and Reporting Systems, so that the assigned functions can be correctly executed, results and information correctly consolidate.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in material planning and ordering in an international industrial environment, out of a minimum total working experience of 5 years.
