Job description

We are seeking a Production Planner focused on material readiness and job coordination. The primary responsibility is to ensure all parts and materials are available before releasing jobs to the production floor.
This role works closely with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams to prevent delays caused by missing components or late deliveries. The environment is MRP-based, with a strong emphasis on execution and follow-up.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Material Planning
  • Confirm all required materials and components are available before releasing jobs
  • Monitor inventory levels and proactively identify shortages
  • Coordinate with purchasing to ensure materials are ordered and delivered on time
  • Track open purchase orders and follow up on late or critical items
  • Maintain clear visibility of material status and communicate risks early
  • Prevent production downtime due to missing or delayed materials
 
Production Coordination
  • Release jobs only when material readiness is confirmed
  • Adjust priorities based on material availability and delivery timelines
  • Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to align job flow with inventory
  • Support basic scheduling activities (no capacity planning required)
 
Data & Tracking
  • Maintain accurate data in MRP system
  • Track shortages, delays, and job readiness status
  • Support basic reporting on inventory and material flow
  • Identify recurring supply issues and escalate as needed
 
Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience in material planning, production support, or manufacturing operations
  • Experience working with MRP systems
  • Strong Excel skills (tracking, basic analysis)
  • High attention to detail and strong follow-up discipline
  • Ability to coordinate across purchasing, warehouse, and production
 
Preferred
  • Experience in assembly or manufacturing environment
  • APICS / CPIM (nice to have)
  • Understanding of inventory flow and supply chain basics
