Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Collection Management Assistant. - Boca Raton, FL.

The Collections Management Assistant supports the maintenance, organization, and accessibility of the library's collections and resources. This position assists with both physical and digital collection management while providing administrative support to ensure efficient departmental operations.

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining and updating the library's collection, including retrieving materials from the shelves, physically processing items, discarding withdrawn materials, and reporting collection statistics.
  • Assist with adding new materials to the library's collection by searching the library catalog and physically processing items for circulation.
  • Support the management of online library resources as assigned, including entering notes and updating or cleaning broken links in Library Guides.
  • Scan and convert paperwork related to past purchases and subscriptions into digital records.
  • Collect, sort, and distribute departmental mail.
  • Report daily tasks and completed assignments to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

FAU degree-seeking graduate student with a minimum of five credit hours (or nine if international) and a minimum 3.0 GPA. Graduate Assistants fall under the non-exempt, hourly pay rate type.
