Material Handler

Company Intro

Advanced Interiors is the industry leader in providing interior finishes to the residential new home market. We also serve the retail, remodeling, commercial and multi-family markets focusing not only on the products, but also the services that the new homebuilder needs. Our business has grown to include not only flooring, but also a full offering of cabinetry and a Stone Division where we fabricate our own Granite and Quartz.

Can Vary; Generally Monday-Friday 7am-3pm

Position Summary

We have an immediate opening for a Production Associate to assist in stone material handling and inventory control. Experience is a definite plus, however, we are willing to train the right person.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive (document) materials returned from fabrication to inventory.
  • Verify quantities, products and condition of all materials received.
  • Place all products received in appropriate locations.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of all work areas.
  • Process appropriate paperwork regarding all materials.
  • Receiving of new inventory via inventory documentation process.
  • Selecting and transporting inventory per custom job requirements.
  • Assist with periodic physical inventory counting.
  • Periodic disposal of company trash to the dumpster.
  • Assist in various areas production facility as needed.
  • Assist Stone Manager as needed.
  • Operation of a fork lift and guiding stone slabs and remnants.
  • Quality inspection of incoming materials as well as material delivered to the production floor.
  • Other duties and responsibilities.

Competencies

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of the quality control inspection process for receiving and handling of materials
  • A great working knowledge of tools used in this industry
  • Knowledge of safe slab handling practices
  • Fork Truck experience preferred but not required

Skills:

  • Dynamic problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and great customer service
  • Material lay-out and all technical expertise

Abilities:

  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Process driven and technology savvy
  • Ability to handle heavy material while practicing safe lifting to prevent injury of oneself or others
  • A valid driver's license with an insurable driving record

Experience

  • Experience in granite/quartz polishing and solid surface sanding is a plus

Physical Demands

Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others.
