Job description

A growing company located in The Woodlands is seeking a Payroll Tax Analyst for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is responsible for supporting daily, quarterly, and annual payroll tax filings, reconciliations, tax setup, and notice resolution in a multi-state environment.

This position is fully onsite initially for training and onboarding, with the potential for a hybrid schedule after hire based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Process and support payroll tax filings and reconciliations
  • Manage tax notices, agency correspondence, and issue resolution
  • Research tax codes and complete tax setup for new accounts
  • Communicate with clients and internal teams to gather tax information
  • Maintain accurate payroll tax data in internal systems


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of payroll tax experience
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations
  • Experience with notice resolution and multi-state payroll
  • Familiarity with MasterTax, payroll systems, CRM tools, and Excel
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
