Job Description

We are seeking a forward-thinking Business Operations professional to drive operational excellence, analytics, technology adoption, and continuous improvement across our Indianapolis District.

This role serves as a strategic partner to district leadership and requires a unique blend of leadership influence, analytical capability, and technical expertise. The successful candidate will leverage data, reporting, AI-enabled technologies, and process improvement methodologies to enhance operational performance, support business decision-making, and improve the employee and customer experience.

We recognize that exceptional candidates may come from a variety of professional backgrounds. While the responsibilities and expectations of this role are clearly defined, the final title may be aligned with the selected candidate's experience, technical expertise, and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Business Operations & Performance

  • Partner with district leadership to evaluate operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze operational, customer, and financial data to support decision-making and drive measurable results.
  • Support district excellence initiatives across Employee, Customer, Finance, and Operations.
  • Facilitate Management Review Meetings and help drive accountability for improvement initiatives.

Analytics, Reporting & Customer Solutions

  • Develop reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics that improve visibility and support business decisions.
  • Partner with Sales, Pricing, Account Management, and Operations teams to support customer solutions and commercial initiatives.
  • Utilize internal data to support customer reviews, visibility reporting, pricing discussions, and business development opportunities.
  • Translate business needs into practical reporting and technology solutions.

Technology & Continuous Improvement

  • Leverage Microsoft Copilot, AI-enabled technologies, automation, and digital solutions to improve productivity and operational performance.
  • Champion adoption of new technologies, reporting tools, and process improvements across the district.
  • Utilize advanced Excel, Power Query, and data analysis capabilities to improve efficiency and standardization.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives through process mapping, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.

Training & Change Leadership

  • Coach employees and leaders on reporting tools, AI-enabled technologies, operational processes, and best practices.
  • Support technology deployments and organizational change initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for process improvement, analytics, technology adoption, and operational excellence.

Required

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data, identify trends, and drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reporting, data analysis, Power Query, and process automation.
  • Experience leveraging Microsoft Copilot and AI-enabled technologies to improve productivity and business processes.
  • Ability to evaluate, implement, and drive adoption of digital solutions.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence change and build partnerships across multiple functional areas.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred, with an emphasis on leveraging data and technology to drive business performance.
  • Experience with Power BI, SharePoint, Visio, or similar business intelligence and process improvement tools.
  • Experience supporting customer reporting, pricing analysis, sales initiatives, or business development activities.
  • Knowledge of Expeditors products, services, and operational processes.
  • Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, or related industries.
