Overview
The Master Scheduler is responsible for translating customer demand into a feasible manufacturing schedule while balancing capacity, material availability, labor resources, and inventory objectives. This position owns the Master Production Schedule (MPS), supports SIOP/S&OP processes, monitors production performance, and drives continuous improvement in planning systems and processes. The Master Scheduler serves as the central coordination point between Operations, Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Customer Service to ensure on-time delivery and optimal inventory performance.
This position requires the ability to read instructions represented in manuals and follow these instructions. This position exists in a temperature controlled environment.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  • Create finite and capacity-constrained production schedules.
  • Balance customer demand, production capabilities, and inventory targets.
  • Monitor schedule adherence and drive corrective actions.
  • Manage work order priorities and production sequencing.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes.
  • Perform Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP).
  • Identify short- and long-term capacity constraints.
  • Recommend inventory strategies.
  • Support long-range capacity planning initiatives.
  • Facilitate demand and supply reconciliation meetings.
  • Prepare planning scenarios and business recommendations.
  • Support executive SIOP reviews.
  • Develop supply response plans to support forecast changes.
  • Maintain planning parameters including lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, and calendars.
  • Ensure ERP master data integrity.
  • Analyze MRP recommendations and resolve exceptions.
  • Support ERP process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Optimize inventory levels while maintaining service objectives.
  • Monitor excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Partner with Procurement to maintain material availability.
  • Improve inventory turns and working capital performance.
  • Develop planning dashboards and KPI reporting.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of schedule misses and shortages.
  • Implement process improvements that enhance planning accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Supply Chain initiatives.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field or 5-8+ years of production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or manufacturing planning experience.
  • Experience in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Preferred experience leading SIOP/S&OP processes.
  • Manufacturing environment experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of material flow and manufacturing operations
  • Deep knowledge of ERP structure (BOMs, routings, transactions, inventory)
  • Microsoft skills, especially Excel
  • Strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills
