Full Job Description Library Media Specialist

Salary Grade: Teacher's Salary Schedule

Position Summary: Provides instruction in and access to library information resources and programs for students, staff and the entire school community.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Master of Library Science (MLS), Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Librarianship degree or the equivalent from an accredited college-level library program (Preferred) or
Masters degree in any subject and at least one of the following:
o Thirty (30) or more coursework hours related to library/media
o Fifteen (15) or more coursework hours related to library/media and one (1) year of relevant work experience
o Three (3) or more years of library/media related work experience and a letter from the district
o Enrolled in a Library Media or School Librarian certification program or
Bachelors degree and enrolled in a Master of Library Science (MLS), Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Librarianship, or the equivalent
Experience:

Previous experience working in a library or media related organization

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.:
Possess or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Oklahoma Library Media Specialist certificate or waiver from OSDE
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
