What is a Master Key in the context of building security?

A Master Key is a specialized key designed to open multiple locks within a building or facility, even though each lock may also have its own unique key. This system is commonly used in commercial buildings, hotels, and large residential complexes to allow authorized personnel, such as maintenance staff or managers, access to all or selected areas. The use of master keys simplifies security management but also requires strict control to prevent unauthorized access. Master key systems are typically managed by locksmiths and security professionals. Regular audits and secure storage of master keys are essential to ensure the safety and integrity of the system.

What is the difference between Master Key vs Locksmith?
