POSITION SUMMARY:

The D365 Master Data Manager is responsible for the governance, integrity, and optimization of master data within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O). This role ensures that master data across supply chain, manufacturing, finance, and commercial processes is accurate, standardized, and aligned to enable effective planning, execution, and financial reporting.

This position serves as a critical bridge between business functions and systems, driving data consistency, supporting S&OP, improving MRP and ATP performance, and enabling a scalable, audit-ready data foundation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Master Data Governance & Strategy
    • Establish and enforce enterprise master data governance framework across all D365 entities
    • Define data standards, policies, and naming conventions for items, BOMs, routes, and other data points, as appropriate
    • Lead data ownership model (RACI) across Supply Chain, Finance, and Commercial teams
    • Serve as the steward of data quality, auditability, and compliance
  • D365 Master Data Management
    • Oversee creation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of:
      • Released products and item attributes
      • Routes and work centers
      • Warehouse and inventory parameters
      • Customer, vendor, and intercompany setups
      • Partner with R&D teams on development and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and formulas
    • Ensure consistency of master data across legal entities and manufacturing sites
    • Manage data structures that support costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting
  • Planning & Supply Chain Enablement
    • Ensure master data readiness to support:
      • MRP accuracy and stability
      • Available-to-Promise (ATP) functionality
      • Production scheduling and capacity planning
    • Partner with Planning and Operations to align data with network strategy, lead times, and sourcing decisions
    • Identify and resolve data-related issues impacting supply chain performance
  • Data Quality & Continuous Improvement
    • Develop and monitor KPIs for master data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
    • Implement data validation rules, workflow approvals, and audit controls within D365
    • Lead data cleansing and standardization initiatives
    • Drive root cause analysis for data-related errors impacting operations or financial results
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Supply Chain Planning, Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams
    • Translate business requirements into master data structures and system configuration
    • Support system enhancements, testing, and deployments related to D365
  • Transformation & Systems Integration
    • Support ERP and planning system enhancements (e.g., D365 and Oracle EPM integration)
    • Ensure master data alignment across systems
    • Participate in transformation initiatives to reduce complexity and improve scalability

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in ERP master data management, preferably in D365 F&O
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Item master, BOMs/formulas, and routing structures
    • Manufacturing, inventory, and cost accounting processes
    • Intercompany and multi-site supply chain environments
  • Experience implementing data governance frameworks and controls
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Preferred skills
    • Experience with S&OP processes and planning system integration
    • Knowledge of MRP, ATP, and production scheduling
    • Experience in global, multi-entity manufacturing environments
    • Familiarity with Power BI or data governance tools
