Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Master Data Management (MDM) Manager to lead the governance, quality, and operational management of Item/Product Master Data across the organization.

This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, integrity, and governance of enterprise master data while leading a team of Data Stewards and partnering with cross-functional business and technology stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, deep MDM expertise, and experience driving process improvement initiatives within enterprise ERP and MDM environments.


Key ResponsibilitiesData Governance & Oversight
  • Serve as the final approver for all new product/item requests and master data changes
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance policies, standards, and business rules
  • Maintain accountability for the quality, integrity, consistency, and accuracy of item master data
  • Act as the escalation point for complex data issues, governance exceptions, and process conflicts
  • Establish and maintain data standards, workflows, and governance procedures
Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Stewards and data management professionals
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and career development support
  • Oversee daily operational workflows and prioritize work assignments effectively
  • Ensure established SLAs and operational performance metrics are consistently achieved
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Strategy & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with IT, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Sales teams to align master data processes with business objectives
  • Develop and enhance enterprise data governance frameworks and best practices
  • Lead initiatives focused on improving data quality, operational efficiency, and process standardization
  • Define, monitor, and report on KPIs related to data quality, workflow performance, and governance compliance
  • Support enterprise transformation and digital modernization initiatives involving master data
Tools, Systems & Reporting
  • Collaborate on dashboards and reporting solutions to monitor data quality and team performance
  • Ensure effective utilization of MDM platforms and ERP systems to enforce governance standards
  • Support system enhancements, integrations, automation initiatives, and process optimization efforts
  • Utilize reporting and analytics tools to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities

Required QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, or Data Quality
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing data-focused teams
  • Hands-on experience managing Item/Product Master Data within ERP or MDM environments
  • Experience working with enterprise platforms such as:
    • SAP
    • Oracle
    • Informatica
    • Stibo
    • Other MDM/ERP systems
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of MDM principles, governance frameworks, and data quality best practices
  • Experience with SQL or similar querying/reporting tools
  • Familiarity with visualization and reporting platforms such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Understanding of downstream business impacts related to Inventory, Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain, and POS systems
  • Experience supporting workflow optimization and process improvement initiatives
