Job description


The Pastry Cook is responsible for planning, prepping, setting up and providing quality service in all areas of food production related to pastry, baking, dessert, and other menu items and specials, in accordance with standards and plating guide specifications. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three to six months related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Food Handlers Certification (must comply with State Regulations).
  • Ability to switch tasks quickly and often.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Ability to accurately follow recipes and instructions.
  • Knowledge, understanding and ability to apply fundamental techniques of preparing pastries and baked goods.
  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule, to be at work and on time. Schedules vary based on business needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and execute a variety of pastries and baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure pastries and baked goods are visually appealing, well-presented, and consistent in quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following property sanitation and food safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with kitchen leadership to develop new pastry items and seasonal menus.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including health and safety regulations.
  • Complete assigned prep work for stocking and set up of station. Break down and clean station thoroughly every day.
  • Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
