This is a full-time position requiring weekend availability.

SUMMARY:
The Margaux Host is responsible for fulfilling the daily operations of the restaurant including welcoming all guests, answering telephones and taking to-go orders in addition to messages for managers and passing them along to appropriate parties. This associate must follow the expectations of the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, and that of Marriott Quality Assurance Standards along with guest service standards. The Margaux Host is responsible for creating a teamwork environment and produce quality service to each guest.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Welcome all guest to the restaurant, introduce the guest to the menu and the specials.
• Maintain daily set up and/or breakdown of the restaurant by following daily checklists.
• Maintain cleanliness of public areas at all times.
• Be able to follow QA Standard of Service when interacting with and seating guests.
• Know each menu item and its ingredients. Know what happy hour and other specials are.
• Act as a concierge for our area, know of events happening.
• Strives to exceed guest satisfaction and looks for ways to provide the best possible service.
• Understands all facets of job responsibilities and displays the skills necessary to complete tasks.
• Complete daily cleaning duties and side work tasks, takes pride in their work.
• Reports to work on time and rarely misses scheduled shifts. Correctly follow the department attendance policy.
• Participates in department meetings and communicates freely expressing ideas, opinions or views.
• Communicates with management and other staff members.
• Displays a positive courteous and polite attitude, works well with others.
• Takes pride in their appearance and reports to work in complete uniform, wearing the proper shoes and socks professionally dressed and neatly groomed.
• Displays a sense of urgency and the ability to resolve guest concerns or department issues on their own.
• Utilize time well and is productive throughout the entire shift while meeting department standards.
• Looks for ways to save money by reducing waste and controlling expenses. Also tries to generate more revenues by offering ideas and suggestive selling to the guest whenever possible.
• Follow the AHC safety standards of our hotel.

QUALIFICATIONS:
