Job description

Marketing Promotion Specialist
This position is responsible for acting as the megaphone for the brand, image, and message of Box Butte General Hospital and enhancing the visibility to customers, the public, the media, and potential donors.
Essential Job Functions:
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Communicates compassionate and clear examples of the organizational mission, vision, values and strategic priorities to both internal and external customers.
2. Promotes the programs and services of Box Butte General Hospital as well as educates the Greater Nebraska service area regarding the quality of the services.
3. Creates a variety of media, including blog posts, videos, podcasts, newsletters, and landing pages.
4. Reinforces information about the product or service, geared toward target audiences.
5. Plans and guides promotional materials that integrate hospital and program goals, priorities, and values.
6. Optimizes the content for search engines and social promotion, in turn tracking performance through data analytics.
7. Uses sound Performance Improvement tools to successfully guide marketing projects to timely completion.
8. Demonstrates an understanding of global healthcare issues, trends and perspectives (e.g. aging population, insurance costs, malpractice crisis, healthcare workforce shortages, etc.).
9. Coaches and assists department and division leaders in creating a culture of innovation and excellence and the effective promotion of healthcare services and community wellness.
10. Tracks program budgets and expenses and campaign response rates to evaluate each campaign based on program objectives and industry norms.
11. Serves as a spokesperson, media liaison, and Public Information Officer for Box Butte General Hospital in times of promotion and crisis.
12. Stays current with the professional body of knowledges; networks with colleagues; reads trade journals and professional literature to stay informed on trends, innovations, and changes that affect media planning.
13. Supports a positive environment of excellent patient care and world-class customer service.
External Job Functions:
1. Manages social media accounts including, but not limited to LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
2. Maintains awareness for Public Information Officer timing and release.
3. Creates advertisements including, but not limited to print (newspaper, publications, other), radio, television, and digital (OTT, social media).
4. Represents Box Butte General Hospital in public meetings if/when the CEO is not available (examples - Community Huddle, Perfect Blend).
5. Plans events including, but not limited to open houses, new provider introductions, and other hospital events.
6. Writes press releases as needed and in a timely manner (Board Meetings, new service offerings, weather closing advisories).
7. Present benefits/progress reports of external communication to Board of Trustees and Senior Leadership.
8. Prepare and negotiate advertising and sales contracts.
Internal Job Functions:
1. Coordinates BBGH employee email set up to ensure a consistent message.
2. Creates the weekly Pulse newsletter.
3. Read trade journals and professional literature to stay informed on trends, innovations, and changes that affect media planning.
4. Generates new employee ID badges during employee onboarding weekly.
5. Develops content on-brand for internal TV boards and messaging.
6. Participates in department and employee recognition events - employee of the month, traveling Catch the Wind trophy, provider of the quarter, etc.
7. Assists with hospital event planning including, but not limited to employee recognition dinner, provider site visits, and fundraisers.
8. Ensures products display and represent the correct brand use; educate to the importance of internal branding for all programs (employee onboarding, new employee orientation, quarterly and annual employee training events, flyers, business cards, presentations, and other promotional tools).
9. Present benefits/progress reports of internal communication to Board of Trustees and Senior Leadership.
Collaborative Job Functions:
1. Develops stories for department, medical staff, employee promotion.
2. Hosts, Co-hosts Over the Counter podcast.
3. Writes and produces the Scope magazine with up-to-date content; keep on calendar publishing timeline.
4. Evaluates and monitors timely updates to the hospital website.
5. Coordinates necessary swag for promotion of events and programs.
6. Creates campaigns and measures the effectiveness through tools of the trade.
7. Designs, reviews, and edits flyers, brochures, invites, ads, graphics, etc. for brand and image content.

1. Willingly participates in educational opportunities offered by BBGH, for job and personal development.
2. Attends over 80% of staff meetings.
3. Attend mandatory in-services, trainings and meetings.
4. Maintains an orderly, clean, and presentable work space.
5. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
6. Enhances professional development by taking steps to remain knowledgeable of industry standards, and attending meetings and seminars as assigned.
7. Actively participates in BBGH Performance Improvement activities.
8. Contributes to the prevention of infectious disease among employees and patients by adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
9. Contributes to adequate staffing of department by reporting to work at a scheduled time.
10. Conserve BBGH resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to perform job duties.
Job Qualifications:
Expected work hours up to - 4 - 10 hours per day or 5 -8 hours per day
Education:
Required: Associate's degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Public Relations or related field.
Other appropriate professional education or equivalent education may be substituted.
Preferred : Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations or related field. Other appropriate professional education or equivalent education may be substituted.
Experience:
Required: Skilled use of computer and office software programs as well as public presentations.
Two years of experience in Marketing, Public Relations or related fields.
Preferred :
License/Certifications:
Required: Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class "O" Nebraska driver's license or the equivalent.
