Job description

Working Hours/Days: 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday Friday

The Director of Marketing & Employee Communications provides strategic leadership for Altorfer's marketing, brand, communications, and employee engagement initiatives. This role is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive business growth across all divisions while also serving as the primary owner of internal communications, executive messaging, employee engagement campaigns, and company-wide communications platforms. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong business acumen, communication expertise, marketing leadership experience, and the ability to influence stakeholders across all business units.


  • Develop and execute enterprise-wide marketing strategies aligned with Altorfer business objectives.
  • Lead annual marketing planning, budgeting, prioritization, and performance management.
  • Ensure alignment of marketing initiatives across Construction, Product Support, Rental, Power Systems, Ag, SITECH, Digital Solutions, and corporate functions.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify growth opportunities and develop supporting marketing strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive positioning, customer insights, and emerging marketing technologies.
  • Maintain and strengthen the Altorfer brand across all customer and employee touchpoints.
  • Ensure brand consistency across physical, digital, print, and event-based communications.
  • Serve as steward of corporate messaging, brand standards, and visual identity.
  • Manage relationships with Caterpillar marketing programs and co-marketing initiatives where applicable.
  • Own the development and execution of Altorfer's employee communications strategy.
  • Create and maintain an integrated communication calendar for company-wide messaging.
  • Ensure employees receive timely, accurate, and engaging communications from leadership and business functions.
  • Lead marketing planning processes, campaign governance, and workflow management.
  • Oversee marketing technology platforms, data utilization, analytics, and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, Microsoft technologies, and analytics to improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Develop dashboards and metrics that provide visibility into marketing performance and business impact.
  • Develop communication standards, templates, and governance processes.
  • Own employee communication channels including Viva Engage, SharePoint communication sites, digital signage, email campaigns, internal videos, company announcements, and employee newsletters.
  • Continuously improve communication effectiveness and adoption across channels.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing and communications experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and budgets.
  • Demonstrated success leading integrated marketing programs across multiple business units.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience leading organizational communication and change management initiatives.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate analytics into business actions.
  • Experience with digital marketing, CRM systems, marketing automation, content development, social media, and analytics platforms.
  • Positive, friendly, can-do attitude.
  • Some local travel will be required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in industrial, construction, agricultural, equipment, manufacturing, or B2B industries.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership communications.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar dealer operations or similar dealer/distribution environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Microsoft Fabric, AI-enabled productivity tools, and modern communications platforms.

This position will primarily work in an office environment, there will be times when you are required to go out into the service and warehouse area and will be required to wear close-toed shoes and safety glasses in designated areas. May, on a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Must be able to walk, bend, lift up to 25 lbs.
