Job description

PURPOSE:

The Marketing Manager supports growth objectives for the Performance Brands portfolio (Royal Purple, TruFuel, and Bel-Ray) by developing and executing marketing programs aligned to the overall strategy. This role partners cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, and R&D to support retail, digital, and promotional initiatives. The ideal candidate has experience in retail merchandising and working with strategic partners and is comfortable managing multiple priorities. This position leads or supports initiatives across digital communications, advertising, and social media, ensuring strong organization, accountability, and follow-through. Success in this role requires an analytical, self-motivated marketer who can prioritize effectively, use data to inform decisions, and independently move initiatives forward.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with sales on retail line reviews: develop assortment recommendations, merchandising strategies, and presentation materials to support buyer meetings
  • Execute global launch and brand campaigns
  • Coordinate and manage advertising: handle payments, industry relationships, media planning, and spend
  • Own channel insights, management information analysis, and reporting to align objectives across the business unit
  • Manage development and execution of programs, promotions (product, co-op, merchandising), market-specific communication plans, and new product launches
  • Analyze and report POS, inventory, market share, competitive insights, and innovation
  • Track promotional effectiveness; recommend improvements
  • Partner with sales to identify distribution opportunities
  • Oversee channel program budgets and timelines for flawless, on-budget execution
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or Finance
  • 7+ years of Marketing experience
  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time

  • Channel Marketing Expertise: Understand consumer insights for effective targeting; define customer segments and develop integrated campaigns with relevant initiatives to drive growth strategies and performance objectives.   • Strategic Marketing Leadership: Develop fact-based channel strategies to achieve business goals; translate strategies into clear objectives/tactics; anticipate trends/problems and proactively address them. Exhibits a continuous improvement mindset; regularly evaluates performance and adjusts strategy based on data and market feedback.
  • Sales Enablement: Create high-impact marketing collateral for sales, including presentations, brochures, sell sheets, pitch decks, and other tools to equip the team for effective buyer meetings.
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written, listening). This includes the ability to make effective presentations to all levels of management
  • Deep Marketing toolbox, including experience with all 4Ps of marketing (product, place, price, and promotion)
  • High levels of interpersonal skills, specifically in the area of influencing, resolving conflict, and creative problem solving
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in the form of influencing without authority and working with and/or leading a cross-functional team
  • Strong analytical capability with demonstrated experience using data to make independent decisions and recommendations
  • Self-starter who operates with urgency, takes ownership of outcomes, and proactively drives initiatives without requiring close supervision
  • Highly organized with strong project management discipline; able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
