Job description

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Decatur, Illinois

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in assisting product groups with the design and implementation of test systems for prime product units and lower powertrain. This includes responsibilities in final test and adjust booths, as well as in process validation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and implementation of test systems for product units.
  • Provide component drawings as required.
  • Initiate and track projects, develop specifications for vehicle testing, and develop test software for both full build and modular units.
  • Offer technical support for electrical and hydraulic systems to resolve end-of-line test issues.
  • Perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes to support management decisions.
  • Design and direct the acquisition of tooling and machines.
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develop solutions, and monitor improvements.
  • Procure materials related to manufacturing improvements through external suppliers.
  • Analyze and deploy engineering change notices.
  • Establish and maintain standard work procedures.
  • Train and develop training programs for test operators.
  • Engage in creative problem-solving to address operational issues including ergonomic, safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, and quality concerns.
  • Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with digital multimeters, data acquisition devices, PLC programming, and industrial instrumentation.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

  • Proficiency in reading electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics.

Pay and Benefits
