Job description

McCorvey Companies is a family-owned Manufacturing & Construction company seeking a Manufacturing Safety Coordinator to join our growing team. This position offers immediate availability with opportunity for long-term growth. McCorvey Companies supports large-scale commercial and industrial projects, including hospitals, research labs, sports stadiums, schools, and other vertical markets.

This role is based in a manufacturing/shop environment supporting fabrication operations within McCorvey Companies. McCorvey Companies supports large-scale commercial and industrial projects, including hospitals, research labs, sports stadiums, schools, and other vertical markets.

Job Summary
The Shop Safety Coordinator promotes and enforces safety within the manufacturing facility environment, ensuring compliance and safe work practices throughout shop operations. This role works closely with shop leadership and management to plan, coordinate, and communicate safety requirements and serves as the primary safety point of contact for the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce company and site-specific safety programs within the manufacturing/shop facility
  • Conduct safety orientations, audits, and inspections throughout the shop floor
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
  • Communicate safety expectations with shop personnel and leadership
  • Assist with incident reporting and corrective actions
  • Serve as the primary safety point of contact for the McCorvey Companies manufacturing facility

Requirements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) – required
  • Must be local to the Houston area
  • 2+ years of safety or construction-related experience
  • Willingness to travel preferred
  • OSHA 510/500 is acceptable; OSHA 510 is preferred 
  • OSHA 30
  • CPR & First Aid
  • Must pass drug screen, background check, and physical
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Reliable transportation
