Polymer Concepts Technologies PBY, Inc. KRS Division dba KRS is responsible for manufacturing aerospace and industrial sealing ring solutions. KRS has a customer portfolio that includes all major players in the Aerospace and Industrial industries. Our business is fully customer focused, with products specifically designed for an engine/airframe application and then produced in small quantities and small lots on highly flexible equipment. Extreme product range fragmentation, complex product design, very high-quality standards and traceability requirements are the peculiarity of KRS.

Our Hanover, PA team is hiring a Manufacturing Quality Engineer!
Job Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing leadership and support on assigned programs and projects ensuring that the Companyโ€™s products are manufactured in accordance with customer specifications and Company quality requirements. Serves as a liaison between customers, vendors and the Company on quality related issues, customer quality programs (PPAP) and in support of internal company goals and objectives.
Essential Job Functions
  • Reviews company and customer drawings, changes, inspections sheets, process procedures, test procedures, procurement documentation, quality manuals and inspection sheets ensuring company and customer quality and configuration requirements are met on assigned products, programs and projects.
  • Provides technical support to assigned functional areas including visual aids, inspection sheets for final inspection and quality metric analysis in support of the Companyโ€™s Quality objectives.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to Quality Assurance Inspectors, Quality Technician, Production Supervision and operators on company quality requirements.
  • Serves UPPAP Champion; coordinating compliance with customer requirements and communication with customer representatives on program requirements. Maintains substantiating documentation of assigned UPPAP parts.
  • Interacts with representatives from a variety of functional areas, including design engineering, manufacturing engineering, purchasing and production and inspection personnel relating to products and programs (PFMEAs, Capability Studies, Risk Analysis and Measurement System Analysis) associated with Quality Assurance and Customer requirements.
  • Interfaces with customer quality and engineering representatives on a variety of issues including flight safety programs. Schedules and host customer sources inspectors.
  • Performs vendor surveys and evaluates potentially new vendors as required to support company objectives and programs.
  • Generates Quality Assurance documentation in accordance with applicable specification. Develops and implements inspection procedures.
  • Maintains the gauge calibration and recall computer system and coordinates outside calibration resources.
  • Prepares prototype and submission documentation.
Additional Duties
  • Designs and maintains quality control documentation, forms, and inspection sheets.
  • Monitors returns and issues corrective actions (internal/external).
  • Serves as an AS9100 internal auditor.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Quality Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a US Person per ITAR Compliance*.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in mechanical engineering, Quality Assurance or technical equivalent or equivalent practical experience and specialized training.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) yearsโ€™ experience in Aeronautical environment in Quality Control function.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of quality engineering principles, methods, geometric dimensional tolerancing (GDT) gauging and calibration, and statistical methods and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Able to effectively work in an environment requiring considerable independent judgment, analysis, creativity, pragmatism and self-motivation with customer focus.
  • Refers to supervisor for clarification of priorities, objectives or policies.
  • Able to effectively operate with considerable latitude for un-reviewed action and decision-making and accountability for outcomes.
  • Self-starter with the ability to effectively interact all various levels of the organization.
  • Incumbent must possess a highly degree of computer literacy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to organize and prioritize work.
  • Time management skills to ensure that administrative tasks are completed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
  • 100% on-site role within KRS Plant in Hanover, PA.
  • Work is performed in an office environment while supporting manufacturing and industrial environment.
