Job description

This role is responsible for the generation, implementation, and management of a Manufacturing focused Meta Quality Program, by establishing a Quality Program that is focused on people, processes and accountability through influential vendor management and effective partnerships with site-based stakeholders (General Contractor Teams, Vendor Teams, Trade Partners, and Infra-Data Center Teams). Through leadership and partnerships, the Manufacturing Quality Engineers will apply established quality methodologies and program standards to drive vendor improvement objectives and issue mitigation strategies to ensure day one readiness, predictable on-time delivery, and operational reliability of our global campuses.
Manufacturing Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Conduct vendor audits, evaluate on site trend data reflective of vendor performance (set in place inspections, construction, start-up, and commissioning execution) and establish strategic vendor improvement objectives to refine vendor processes, training and phase gating that result in reduced risk of shipping issues to sites and impacting start-up and commissioning
  • Develop and monitor quality program metrics to evaluate vendor manufacturing and project performance. Analyze these metrics to identify root causes of concerning trends and work with the relevant parties to implement corrections
  • Contribute to building teams by mentoring and developing off-site Vendor teams by providing feedback to meet and exceed manufacturing expectations by defining performance objectives while influencing on-site teammates and partners such as Regional Quality Managers, Building Management System, Quality Managers, General contractor teams, Vendor support teams, Trade Partners, and other Meta Infrastructure Data Center teams
  • Remain informed of operational equipment deficiencies, evaluate systemic potential and program manage systemic vendor RCA and site escalation mitigation strategies
  • In conjunction with the Regional Quality Manager, Building Management System (BMS) Quality Manager, Data Center Engineering & Construction, Infrastructure and Supply Chain Engineering and Facility Operations matrixed teams establish effective processes and standards to enable efficient scope execution and effective cross-functional communications
  • Provide leadership to offsite vendor and on-site Meta Operations Facilities Engineering (MOFE) management & quality teams while interfacing at the highest level between sourcing, design, construction, facility operations leadership and the general contractor
  • Provide direction and feedback to vendor staff, general contractor staff and trade partners on the Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) Management and Quality program
  • Provide onboarding & continuous training of Vendor personnel to ensure awareness of quality procedures and specific responsibilities vital to the Meta Quality program
  • Through the establishment of partnerships, coordinate quality issues & schedule dynamics between the Meta design, Infrastructure and Supply Chain Engineering, construction, and facility operations teams to ensure operational readiness
  • Audit Quality activities of vendor and project team staff on a regular cadence and as triggered by quality events to assess conformance with the manufacturing expectations
  • Recommend and verify effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions for Vendor Audit & Execution non-conformances and quality issues, in coordination with sourcing partners, vendor management, design, engineering, construction and other functional disciplines
  • Partner with Vendor teams and Project Teams in review of Level 3, 4, and 5 Energization, Start-up, and Commissioning schedules to help ensure issue counts are trending downward, gating issues mitigated, adequate field service representatives are mobilized, and vendor risks are proactively avoided
  • Help drive the closure of open issues and escalate any open items not getting closed out in a timely manner
  • Assist in confirming that Level 2 and Level 3 testing documentation is properly completed and retained in a timely manner that aligns with microschedule milestones
  • Attend required Construction Meetings such as the weekly project and monthly global Mechanical Electrical Plumbing / Operations and Maintenance Quality meeting, weekly meetings, and daily start-up and commissioning meetings
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed (anticipated 50 to 60%)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10+ years experience of Quality Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Improvement, Process Management or Mission Critical Engineering/Construction/Operations
  • Experience with sharing information and influencing others (communication skills, experience to liaise cross functionally, internally, and externally. This includes executive communications and presentations
  • A proven communicator with experience energizing short-term and maintaining long-term relationships
  • Experience applying root cause analysis, statistical process control, and quality tools (e.g., 8D, FMEA, fishbone diagrams) to resolve manufacturing or construction quality issues
  • Bachelor's in engineering or construction management or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in directly and indirectly managing output of complex projects, programs, suppliers, or internal teams

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier performance management
  • Certified ASQ quality manager or quality engineer or auditor
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Equivalent Certifications
  • Experience utilizing Autodesk BIM360 Field and/or ACC Build software
  • Technical knowledge of data centers and critical electrical and mechanical systems
  • Industrial and/or manufacturing engineering experience
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
