Job Summary

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Custodial Shift Supervisor, Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm at our National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) project in Washingotn, DC  (NARA I).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Schedules, directs-work, and trains EMCOR custodial staff, as needed.
  • Inspects work, generates reports, presents information to Custodial Manager/Supervisor.
  • Ensures and promotes a safe working environment.
  • Consistently demonstrates a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Completes all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains daily upkeep of assigned areas and equipment.
  • Holds subordinate staff accountable to tasks and schedules.
  • Responsible for coaching, mentoring and disciplinary action, as needed.
  • Ensures equipment, building and property is secure during shift and reports incidents and hazardous conditions to senior management.
  • Develop purchase requests for cleaning supplies/equipment, manages inventory.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial cleaning required in high profile facilities.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Work Lead.
  • ISSA (International Sanitary Supply Association) or equivalent training desired.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams with 10+ employees.
  • Experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of the upkeep, care and safe operation of motorized equipment used for cleaning i.e. auto scrubber, buffer, snow blower, trash compactor, genie lift, pressure washer, box compactor, sweeper, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English.
  • Ability to read and understand Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly walk for extended periods; required to sit; use hands to finger, handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms; talks or hear and test or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
