building a direct subscription business that matches that global reach. As Senior Product
Manager, Subscriptions - International Growth, you'll own the product strategy and
execution for expanding CNN's subscription and streaming products into new international
markets, working across web, mobile, and connected TV to build localized experiences that
convert and retain subscribers worldwide. This is a high-visibility role at the center of CNN's
long-term direct-to-consumer growth strategy.
This role will work closely with marketing, design, engineering and data partners to identify
and build the capabilities required to launch and grow subscriptions internationally and
will help define requirements across localization, payments and market-specific user
needs, with a clear mandate to improve acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
Your role accountabilities...
• Roadmap: Develop and execute the product roadmap for expanding CNN's
subscription products into new international markets. Identify high impact
opportunities and translate them into clear product requirements.
• Execution: Write clear user stories, manage the backlog, and partner closely with
marketing, engineering, design and legal partners to deliver high quality features
that drive global subscriber growth.
• Localization, Market Readiness & Compliance: Partner with regional marketing,
editorial and design teams to define and implement localization features (language,
content presentation, pricing, and UX), ensuring experiences are relevant and
effective in each market. Collaborate with legal and policy teams to understand and
incorporate country-specific regulations, content restrictions, and data/privacy
requirements into product development.
• Global Payments & Monetization: Partner with payments, finance, and third-party
vendors to enable regionally optimized payment methods, pricing strategies, and
tax handling, ensuring a seamless and frictionless purchase experience globally.
• Cross-Platform Delivery: Drive consistent subscription experiences across web,
mobile apps, and CTV platforms, ensuring scalability and performance in global
markets.
• Data-Driven Optimization: Leverage data and experimentation to understand user
behavior, optimize conversion funnels, and improve retention. Monitor key
subscription metrics across markets and iterate accordingly.
• Communication & Alignment: Keep cross functional partners, including
marketing, editorial, and regional teams, informed on priorities and performance
insights. Contribute to broader subscription strategy discussions with insights from
international markets.
Qualifications & Experience...
• 5+ years of product management experience, with exposure to direct-to-consumer
subscription products, ideally in digital media or streaming.
• Experience working on international product launches including localization and
market-specific customization.
• Familiarity with global payments ecosystems and with regulatory, tax and content
considerations across regions.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills; ability to work effectively
across distributed and cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on experience designing, running and evaluating A/B tests.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and subscription KPIs
(conversion, churn, LTV) to inform decisions
• Clear and concise communicator with the ability to present ideas and influence
partners.
• Experience building products across web, mobile, or CTV platforms is a plus.
