Key responsibilities

  • Advise on securitization, warehouse financing, and structured credit transactions with an emphasis on esoteric and emerging asset classes.

  • Take active roles in transaction structuring, drafting, negotiations, and direct client counseling.

  • Work on a variety of sophisticated transactions, including fintech lending, specialty finance structures, warehouse facilities, and asset-backed financings.

Job description

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a senior level associate or counsel to join its Structured Finance practice. No portable business is required.

The group advises on a broad range of sophisticated securitization, warehouse financing, and structured credit transactions, with a particular emphasis on esoteric and emerging asset classes rather than solely traditional ABS products. The practice is widely recognized for handling innovative and โ€œfirst-of-kindโ€ transactions across evolving sectors of the structured finance market.

Representative matters include:

  • fintech and marketplace lending transactions
  • specialty finance and private credit structures
  • warehouse facilities and asset-backed financings
  • mortgage servicing rights (MSR) financings
  • transportation and aviation-related assets
  • venture and specialty lending securitizations
  • CLOs, RMBS, and other structured products

The practice occupies a distinctive position in the market: combining sophisticated institutional-caliber work with a more entrepreneurial and less hierarchical platform than many of the largest securitization practices.

The team is leanly staffed and highly collaborative, providing associates and counsel with substantial responsibility and visibility. Lawyers in the group regularly take active roles in transaction structuring, drafting, negotiations, and direct client counseling, rather than being siloed into narrow execution functions. Associates often gain meaningful client exposure and substantive deal responsibility earlier than at larger staffing-pyramid platforms.

The practice is particularly attractive to lawyers interested in the evolving intersection of:

  • structured finance
  • fintech and digital lending platforms
  • specialty finance
  • private credit
  • asset-backed innovation
  • emerging capital markets products

The broader finance platform is recognized nationally by leading legal ranking publications and is regarded as a sophisticated yet commercially pragmatic practice with a strong reputation in evolving and complex asset classes.

Qualifications

Candidates should have:

  • 5+ years of structured finance, securitization, or asset-backed finance experience
  • experience with warehouse facilities, ABS transactions, securitizations, structured credit, or related financing products
  • strong drafting and transaction management skills
  • the ability to operate effectively in leanly staffed, collaborative deal teams
  • excellent analytical and communication abilities

Experience with fintech, specialty finance, private credit, esoteric asset classes, or emerging structured products is especially valuable.

The ideal candidate is someone seeking sophisticated, market-facing work within a platform that offers strong technical credibility, meaningful autonomy, and substantial opportunities for long-term growth and client development.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, $310,000-$435,000+.
