VP, Structured Products

We've had strong growth at the commercial bank in a broad array of products and services over the past few years, including but not limited to financing (commercial lending, loan syndications), capital markets (interest rate derivatives, commodity derivatives, foreign exchange, investment banking (including structured products, debt capital markets, & equity capital markets), institutional sales & trading, equity research and treasury management.

This role will report to the Head of Structured Products within Capital One's Capital Markets Financing Group (CM) and will be a member of the Structured Products team driving new business opportunities. The Structured Products Group works with clients across the bank, primarily the Financial Institutions Group (FIG), to structure, arrange and distribute ABS and CLO transactions to institutional investors. The FIG client set operates across a broad range of asset classes in the consumer & commercial sectors which includes ABS, MM CLO's & CRE CLO's.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to senior capital markets bankers to facilitate the team winning left lead and joint lead ABS/CLO mandates and managing financing facilities across a variety of consumer and commercial asset classes

  • Provide supporting role in the execution & closing of ABS and/or CLO transactions and financing transactions

    • Managing and leading deal process

    • Discussions with Rating Agencies, Accounting Firms, Trustees and Legal Counsel

    • Negotiation of key deal terms

    • Reviewing and commenting on legal documentation

    • Running investor calls and meetings

    • Assist deal sponsorship internally

    • Preparing key transaction materials

    • Liaise with internal and external groups for deal execution

  • Assist in preparation of pitch materials for client discussions for securitization opportunities

  • Provide R&D efforts as the group looks to expand into new products and asset classes within structured products

  • Coordinate ABS and/or CLO activities with internal sales team to ensure proper messaging to investors

  • Lead due diligence sessions for clients

  • Engage in special projects to support new business generation

  • Successful relationship and interactions with partner groups such as Operations, Credit, Counterparty, Market Risk, Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit & Legal

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of structured product or banking experience

  • At least 5 years of experience with cash flow modeling of ABS and CLO

  • Strong quantitative skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York, NY: $220,000 - $270,000 for Vice President, Structured Products











Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
