Scope and Purpose:

ManhattanLife is seeking a Structured Products Analyst to join our investment team. The structured portfolio includes a variety of complex products including Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS), Asset Backed Securities (ABS), Collateralized Loan Obligations(CLO) and Alternative Investments.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct fundamental credit analysis across a broad spectrum of asset classes including written research opinions and investment recommendations across sectors. 
  • Monitor and analyze existing structured product holdings.
  • Build internal analytical models and leverage external models for investment decisions.
  • Familiarity with public structured market by sector and spread.
  • Develop relationships with external brokers and analysts.
  • Follow macro trends that affect the overall US and Global economies and consumers, while also following micro trends that affect specific asset classes and issuers.
  • Strong written and oral communications are imperative.
  • Ability to work closely with investment team.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and updates pertaining to structured sector.
  • Additional projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance or Business Administration. An MBA or progress toward a CFA is preferred.
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 1-2 years of experience in fixed income credit analysis, debt capital markets or equity markets.
  • Three years’ relevant experience in the structured products sector including RMBS, ABS, CLOs, and Alternative Investments.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and Bloomberg.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and within tight deadlines, prioritizing in a demanding environment.

  • This position may require light travel within a ten-mile radius from one office location to another as needed.
  • Attending Industry conferences
