Job Overview

Advisory associates assist lead and secondary advisors in delivering comprehensive financial services to ultra-high net worth (UHNW) families and individuals, as well as institutions and foundations. Your key responsibilities will encompass client relationship management, portfolio management, financial planning, and operational support.


This position requires consistent in-person attendance at our NYC office.


Client Relationship Management:

  • Prepare highly sophisticated presentations and reporting for assigned clients using several different financial software tools in addition to Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Create meeting schedules and prepare deliverables in advance to allow time for review.
  • Maintain accurate asset and entity information in core systems to ensure accurate client reporting and deliverables.
  • Support assigned advisors with the development of custom views in Addepar to properly track and analyze key attributes.
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve any potential issues with data feeds, as needed.
  • Assist advisors with managing client communication and inquiries to ensure service standards are maintained and continue building lasting relationships with each family.

Portfolio Management:

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of investment opportunities, market trends, and economic factors to build your personal expertise and knowledge.
  • Assist lead and secondary advisors in constructing and monitoring client portfolios based on their investment objectives.
  • Recommend portfolio adjustments and rebalancing strategies as necessary to align with clientโ€™s goals and objectives.
  • Actively participate in educational calls and internal networking opportunities within Sapient to further your understanding of our investment platform, managers, and opportunities.

Financial Planning:

  • Participate in educational sessions/webinars to build knowledge in financial planning principles and strategies.
  • Conduct thorough financial assessments, analyzing clientsโ€™ current financial positions, cash flow, and risk management.
  • Utilize financial planning software and tools to create customized financial plans as directed.
  • Help with analysis and preparation of prospective and current clientsโ€™ financial plans and investments to support advisors. Support diligence efforts to identify new business or other organic growth opportunities.

Operational Support:

  • Coordinate operational processes related to client onboarding, account maintenance, and transactions as directed.
  • Work directly with our Relationship Management, Investments, and Family Office teams to ensure all client-related requests and tasks are completed timely and efficiently on behalf of the advisor.
  • Assist in maintaining client databases CRM systems, and other technology systems to ensure accurate records at all time.
  • Maintain tracking of billable vs. non-billable assets. Communicate opportunities to advisors to drive billable asset growth.


Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university. Majors in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields of study preferred.
  • 3+ years of direct industry experience.
  • Active pursuit of the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation and/or Series 65 strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Knowledge of investment products, financial markets, and portfolio management principles, with the ability to explain concepts internally and to clients
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
