Position Summary

The Department of Nursing at MSU Denver is seeking applicants for a Senior Interprofessional Simulation Operations Specialist (ISOS). Senior ISOS plays an integral role on the educational side of healthcare.The purpose of this position is to support the Department of Nursing, the College of Health and Human Sciences, and University efforts to collaborate by providing creative, timely, technical, and non-technical support for experiential learning activities.

The Senior ISOS position reports to the Director of Interprofessional Simulation and Skills Lab. If you are an EMT, Paramedic, LPN, CNA, PCT, RN, OR Tech, or love robotics, technology, or biomedical engineering, you have wonderful, highly transferrable skills for this role. This role encompasses the infrastructure, people, and processes necessary for implementation of effective and efficient simulation-based experiences (SBE), skills-based, and interprofessional-based experiences.

Responsibilities

  • The ISOS ensures all simulation, skills lab, and related equipment is maintained, set up, stored, and cleaned for each experiential learning activity.
  • The ISOS will be able to work independently, be self-motivated, function well in a team environment, accept feedback, stock to par level quantities for supplies, pursue healthcare simulation and equipment knowledge, pursue educational understanding of AV systems software, knowledge of use of PC, internet, and basic experiential equipment, assist with training staff, students, and faculty in the use of skills and simulation equipment, collaborate and maintain simulators by troubleshooting, provide recommendations on equipment, supplies and materials.
  • The ISOS will participate in the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of student employees and other simulation technology-related positions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ISOS will adhere to the Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice Operations by:

  • Providing personnel with appropriate expertise to support and sustain the SBE program
  • Using a system to manage space, equipment, and personnel resources
  • Secure and manage the financial resources to support stability, sustainability, and growth of the SBE program's goals and outcomes
  • Using a formal process for effective systems integration
  • Creating policies and procedures to support, sustain, and/or grow the SBE program
  • Onboarding, mentoring, or training new educators/facilitators/operational staff/standardized participants to include technology-related requirements of simulation participation
  • Management and maintenance of the schedule

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree
  • Minimum of one year's experience working in education, a simulation-related environment, or equivalent


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) certification
  • Two (2) or more years of experience working in simulation in an education institution or equivalent setting preferred
  • Experience with moulage

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Ability to move equipment, stage props, beds, scenes, etc. with safety and good body mechanics up to 50 lbs. Ask for assistance for anything over 50 lbs. or when assistance is preferred

Schedule Information

  • Full time, 40 hrs/week
  • Exempt
  • Hours: Weekday schedule will vary based on needs
  • Evenings and weekends on occasion
  • Schedule: This is an in person, on campus position

Salary for Announcement

Under Colorado law, MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.

The anticipated hiring range that the university reasonably expects to pay for this position is $60,000 - $66,000.

This position is paid monthly and is eligible for MSU Denver benefits.
