Job description

The Mid Revenue Cycle Senior Data Analyst performs analytics and advanced reporting related to clinical and financial data to support the Mid Revenue Cycle area initiatives- Health Information Management and Revenue Integrity. The position utilizes data and tools to champion a high-performance departmental culture driven by key indicators, people development and customer relationship management. This position assists in training/onboarding of new Mid Revenue Data Analyst team members. In addition, the position performs complex analytics to support new initiatives as directed by the department leadership.

Credentials and Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare/business related discipline
  • Demonstrated four (4) years of experience with clinical coding or charge capture or charge description master (CDM) support roles. Experience with hospital business operations, information systems and data analytics, creation of dashboards and data visualization is required.

    An Associates degree and two (2) years of additional relevant data analytics experience on top of the four (4) years required (for a total of 6 years) will be considered in lieu of the bachelor degree

    A High School Diploma and four (4) years of additional relevant data analytics experience on top of the four (4) years required (for a total of 8 years) will be considered in lieu of the bachelor degree

Minimum Skills/Specialized Training Required
• Clear understanding of revenue cycle applications, including electronic health records
• Knowledge of revenue codes, ICD-10 diagnosis and Procedure Coding System codes, Current Procedural Terminology/Healthcare Common Procedure Coding Systems and modifiers
• Experience executing CDM/charge capture analysis and presenting reports to different levels of the
organization
• In-depth knowledge of patient management information system applications
• Excellent ability to use spreadsheet, word processing, statistical, project management, and presentation
software applications, preferably Microsoft Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word)
• Ability to execute strategy, communicate knowledge of business processes and enable technologies to
produce results
• Ability to manage own schedule and responsibilities. Must have initiative to work effectively without
constant supervision and direction in order to meet all deadlines
• Ability to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment with identified
productivity requirements and with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles
• High-level problem identification/ mitigation/ resolution, analytical and financial skills
• Ability to research, understand, and interpret billing and documentation regulations
