Purpose

The Revenue Analyst III is responsible for delivering advanced revenue analysis, forecasting and insights to support informed business decision-making and ensure the accuracy and integrity of revenue reporting. This role combines strong analytical capabilities with a solid understanding of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606) to evaluate revenue performance, identify risks and opportunities, and distinguish between operational trends and accounting-driven impacts. This role will play a key part in building and scaling revenue analytics capabilities within a rapidly growing organization.


Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction

  • Serve as a subject-matter resource and trusted partner for revenue analytics reporting methodologies, and data interpretation.
  • Provide guidance and informal mentorship to junior team members, promoting strong analytical and data practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement of revenue-related processes, controls, and analytical standards.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance visibility, accuracy, and insight into revenue performance.

 

At the Operational and Company Level

  • Perform advanced analysis of revenue performance across projects, contracts, customers, and service lines.
  • Evaluate revenue trends in the context of contract structures, performance obligations, and timing of revenue recognition.
  • Proactively identify anomalies, emerging risks, and inconsistencies in revenue data, distinguishing between true business performance and accounting-driven timing impacts.
  • Drive analytical support for forecasting, budgeting, and planning through trend analysis, scenario modeling, and variance explanations aligned with revenue recognition principles.
  • Partner closely with Revenue Accounting leadership to support revenue close, interpret complex transactions, and enhance understanding of revenue outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, FP&A, and other stakeholders to align revenue drivers, assumptions, and performance expectations.
  • Design, develop, and enhance dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks that improve transparency into revenue performance.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and data gaps; recommend and implement scalable data-driven solutions.

 

Do the Work

  • Prepare and deliver recurring and ad hoc revenue insights and reporting for management and leadership.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly analyses comparing actual results to forecast, budget, and prior periods, including clear articulation of drivers.
  • Build and refine revenue models to analyze key revenue drivers, including pricing, volume, mix, and project performance trends.
  • Perform detailed reconciliations and root-cause analysis across multiple systems to ensure integrity of revenue data and alignment with financial reporting.
  • Investigate and explain unexpected revenue fluctuations, including impacts from contract terms, project performance, and recognition methodologies.
  • Document assumptions, methodologies, and analytical processes to ensure consistency, transparency, and auditability.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in revenue analysis, financial analysis, FP&A, or related role.
  • Working knowledge of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606), including timing of revenue, contract considerations, and impact to financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting revenue forecasting, reporting, and analytical decision-making in a complex environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
  • Experience with ERP and financial systems (e.g., Deltek, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong ability to analyze, reconcile, and validate large datasets across multiple systems and data sources.
  • CPA, CFA, or progress toward a relevant professional certification preferred but not required.

Salary and eligible variable compensation (if any) commensurate with experience. Range $84,000 - $105,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
