Charles Schwab's Retail Strategy & Analytics team serves as the internal management consulting organization for the Retail business, Schwab's largest business segment. The team partners with senior leaders to solve complex strategic, operational, and analytical challenges, helping shape the future direction of the Retail organization. The group is recognized as a premier source of leadership talent and a valuable pipeline for future enterprise leaders.
Retail Strategy & Analytics serves two primary functions:
  • Supporting strategic decision-making, business planning, and operational priorities for the Retail Leadership Team
  • Delivering analytical insights and business performance reporting for senior leadership

This opportunity is within the Retail Strategy function, where projects focus on growth strategy, market assessments, competitive analysis, operating model design, organizational effectiveness, M&A evaluations, and enterprise transformation initiatives.
What You'll Do
As a Manager, Retail Strategy, you will lead strategic initiatives from problem definition through executive recommendation while partnering closely with senior leaders across the Retail organization.
Responsibilities include:
  • Leading high-priority strategy projects and critical business initiatives from inception through implementation planning
  • Framing complex business challenges and developing fact-based strategic recommendations
  • Conducting and overseeing rigorous quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Evaluating market trends, competitive dynamics, and business performance data to inform decision-making
  • Developing executive-ready presentations and storytelling that influence leadership decisions
  • Building partnerships and alignment across cross-functional stakeholders
  • Coaching and providing guidance on analytical workstreams and project deliverables
  • Translating ambiguity into structured, actionable plans that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on strategic priorities and organizational decisions

What you have
Required Qualifications
  • 3-6 years of full-time experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, financial services, investment banking, or a related strategic business function
  • Proven experience leading or supporting complex strategic problem-solving initiatives
  • Experience framing business questions, developing hypotheses, and creating strategic recommendations
  • Strong analytical skills, including both quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Experience developing and delivering executive-ready presentations and communications
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions and organizational levels
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments with evolving priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
