Job description

Do you enjoy innovating and developing simple solutions for complex problems. Do you thrive in the face of ambiguous challenges. Do you have a passion for analyzing requirements, partnering with legal, business, and builder teams, and articulating opinions and recommendations based on data and research.

Do you want to drive that analysis into actions that enable business?
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security is looking for an experienced, organized, self-driven, and results-oriented Security Industry Specialist to join the AWS Security Assurance team. This organization provides external stakeholders with judicious transparency and confidence regarding AWS's security posture, compliance capabilities, and risk management practices. In this role, you will lead cross-functional projects and programs that span multiple stakeholders, including internal product owners, engineers, operators, compliance specialists, finance and legal partners.

You will partner with these teams to deeply understand and analyze new and emerging regulatory, customer, or third-party security requirements.
Key job responsibilities
The leader in this role will be required to:
-Manage multiple, sometimes competing, priorities simultaneously;
-Distill complex and ambiguous technical problems to their core elements;
-Translate problems into business and technical requirements and tactical actions;
-Identify and engage subject matter experts across multiple organizations (tech and non-tech) and disciplines to define potential solutions;
-Scope the cost, technical, and operational impact of potential solutions;
-Develop recommendations based upon data;
-Craft clear written and verbal communications about the problem, solutions and recommendations for audiences across functions and all levels (including executive leadership); and
-Use technical knowledge, data and strong communication skills to influence partners, stakeholders, and leaders to drive clear and timely decisions.
A day in the life
The unique aspect of this position is the opportunity to operationalize your analyses into real business outcomes.

This means that in addition to providing an interpretation of requirements through writing comprehensive strategy documents, you will also deftly develop, communicate, and manage mitigation and implementation plans.
Your work will cover the entire lifecycle of AWS's infrastructure, services, and products, from inception to operationalization to development to deployment to operations. This role demands intellectual humility, curiosity, and a willingness to always be ready to learn new things.

While this position reports to the Asia-Pacific, Japan and China regional team, you should expect your work to support global operations and programs.
About the team
The AWS Security Assurance Organization is responsible for delivering regulatory, customer, and third-party products including audits, exams, and certifications. Our team members collaborate virtually from locations across Asia Pacific, Japan and China and locations across North America with internal AWS teams as well as external AWS partners, customers, and regulators.
