Job description

PRN

To provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures according to established policy and procedure.  Use independent judgement and systematic problem-solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information and optimal patient care and other assigned duties as assigned by the Operations Manager for Noninvasive.  Performs all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level with minimal supervision. Assists the Manager with the daily operations of the echo lab.   Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of competence under the supervision of the Operations Manager for Noninvasive.  Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images.  Coordinates work schedule with manager to ensure workload coverage.  Consults with referring physician, patient chart, and/or manager regarding patient’s history to determine appropriate lab procedure when necessary.  Performs all other duties as assigned by the manager.

RDCS – Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or RCS – Registered Cardiac Sonographer Echocardiology registry eligible through accredited cardiovascular program, Echocardiology Registered within 1 year of hire.
