Job description

A medical device client is looking for a direct hire, fully remote Clinical Development Specialist to join their team. This person will travel to hospitals and operating rooms to lead procedural imaging optimization and physician education for the implantable heart device they are developing. This person will have primary focus on echocardiographic guidance and assessment but needs experience with imaging protocol and should be comfortable as the technical expert for intraprocedural echo imaging across clinical sites.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and maintain standardized imaging protocols to ensure consistency and high-quality imaging throughout all procedural stages.
  • Deliver hands-on training and educational support to clinical teams—including physicians and sonographers—on the effective use of echocardiographic imaging for device deployment.
  • Provide expert-level imaging guidance and real-time technical support during procedures to optimize device positioning and quickly resolve imaging-related challenges.
  • Conduct post-procedure image reviews, analyze performance trends, and monitor compliance with established protocols to uphold imaging excellence.
  • Serve as the primary imaging expert, supporting device development, regulatory submissions, and contributions to clinical publications.
  • Ensure imaging data meets regulatory standards and quality benchmarks for clinical trial inclusion.
  • Assess imaging capabilities at clinical sites, recommend equipment or training enhancements, and support patient screening through detailed imaging evaluations.
  • Create and continuously improve training materials and competency assessments focused on imaging best practices.
  • Collaborate with R&D and clinical teams by incorporating imaging insights into device design and procedural workflows.
  • Identify and address complex imaging challenges, proposing innovative solutions to enhance procedural success.

What We Are Looking For:
  • At least 5 years of cardiac imaging experience
  • At least 2 years in structural heart interventions
  • At least an Associate’s degree in cardiovascular technology, diagnostic medical sonography, or related clinical field
  • Extensive experience with transesophageal echocardiography in interventional settings
  • Demonstrated expertise in transcatheter mitral valve procedures or similar structural heart interventions
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification required
  • Experience with multimodality cardiac imaging (CT, MRI, angiography) preferred
  • Ability to travel extensively, both domestic and international

Salary of $160,000 to 180,000 per year
