Job description

Description
Koil Energy is seeking a hands-on, motivated Hydraulic Technician. This role is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, troubleshooting, mobilization, and execution of subsea and hydraulic equipment projects while ensuring equipment reliability, operational readiness, and compliance with project procedures and safety standards.
Asset Management & Maintenance
  • Assist the Asset Manager with equipment upkeep, repairs, and day-to-day maintenance activities
  • Develop and implement Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) plans across equipment fleets
  • Support troubleshooting and repair efforts for offshore and onshore equipment failures
  • Drive improvements in equipment reliability and maintenance processes
  • Support Assembly & Service Teams with onshore preparation and offshore execution activities as needed

Onshore Preparation & Mobilization
  • Perform mobilization and demobilization equipment inspections and required testing
  • Record equipment serial numbers and quantities while ensuring all equipment is fit for purpose and within calibration/certification requirements
  • Ensure worksite operations are planned and executed in accordance with project procedures and safety standards
  • Repair and maintain equipment as directed by the Asset Manager

Offshore Execution
  • Support subsea hardware installations and umbilical pre-commissioning work scopes
  • Follow operational procedures and assist with maintaining records and test reports
  • Maintain daily operational reports as required
  • Work in accordance with Company Safety Systems and offshore safety requirements

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience with Doggett / CAT equipment strongly preferred

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong hands-on experience with hydraulic pumps, motors, gearboxes, and hose maintenance
  • Proven hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics experience
  • Electrical experience preferred, including radio remotes and pump control systems
  • Experience developing and managing Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) plans

Physical Requirements
The physical demands listed below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands and arms
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be capable of working offshore, onshore, and overseas for extended durations

Work Environment
  • Primarily outdoor work in a smoke-free environment
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and moderate to high noise levels
  • Proper PPE is required at all times
  • Travel is regularly required and may include offshore assignments and international travel
