CLA is growing and seeking to hire an experienced Manager of DevOps to join our talented Information Technology team. The position offers growth, flexibility and a collaborative work environment.

This role is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the CLA's DevOps and platform engineering initiatives specifically for application development. This role ensures stability, scalability, and efficiency of the pre-production environments and manages deployments to production, while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across development, QA, and IT operations teams. This role combines the functions of a DevOps Manager with platform engineering responsibilities for pre-production environments. In addition, this role will lead the strategy and vision for the DevOps/Platform Engineering Team. This role will ensure efficient migrations with robust metrics and analytics that illustrate effectiveness, along with comprehensive monitoring and tooling.

How you'll create opportunities in this Manager of DevOps role:

  • Manage the review of application build and deployment requirements and review pre-production environment system requirements to ensure availability and scalability.

  • Lead the implementation of build and deployment processes, tools, and methodologies to balance needs throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Oversee the creation of stable pre-production operating environments by continuously improving deployable, scalable, and monitored infrastructure.

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software solutions that orchestrate all aspects of deploying new code commits to production.

  • Support application architects and development teams to ensure software solution designs are compatible with the CI/CD platform.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to configure deployment environments to be compatible with the CI/CD platform.

  • Ensure code assessment and quality gate tools are compatible with the CI/CD platform in collaboration with security teams.

  • Drive CI/CD paradigms into SDLC process improvement discussions and standards documentation.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging, and deployment processes.

  • Implement automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, security tools, and monitoring.

  • Utilize a consistent DevOps approach across products/projects to improve all phases of the process and ensure end-to-end quality, reporting and dashboards across functions.

  • Manage and oversee the DevOps/Platform Engineering team velocity, issues, risks and bottlenecks and related projects.

  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform templates specifically for application development.

  • Oversee tasks related to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including cluster management, scaling, and monitoring.

  • Ensure efficient migrations with robust metrics and analytics that illustrate effectiveness, along with comprehensive monitoring and tooling.

What you will need:

  • 6 years of relevant experience required

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant experience and training may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Technical Competencies:

  • Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and command line interface

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) and YAML markup

  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GC

  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or Jenkin

  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes
