Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Estimating to lead our estimating department with energy and precision. Its crucial this prospective employee has at a minimum 8-10 years of experience with Earthwork specific estimating, Agtek Software and at least 5 years minimum management experience.

This pivotal role involves overseeing the development of accurate project cost estimates, management of a growing estimating team, fostering strong relationships with clients and subcontractors, and driving the start of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality estimates that align with project goals and client expectations. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the entire estimating team, setting clear goals and motivating high performance.
  • Develop comprehensive, accurate construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Utilize industry-standard estimating software such as Agtek and Bluebeam to prepare detailed cost proposals.
  • Collaborate closely with team members, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing data and negotiate terms effectively.
  • Ensure all estimates include thorough cost control measures, risk assessments, and contingency planning.
  • Review scope of work and project schedules to ensure alignment with budget expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in estimating processes by implementing best practices and leveraging innovative tools.

Skills

  • Minimum of 8-10 years in Earthwork specific estimating.
  • Extensive experience in construction estimating, including familiarity with Bluebeam, Agtek, and other industry-standard software.
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and contractual terms with vendors and subcontractors.
