Job description

Join the opening team at Moxy Hotel & Residence Inn Portland Thompson's Point, a brand-new dual-branded Marriott hotel bringing fresh energy, style, and hospitality to one of Portland's most exciting waterfront destinations, opening Summer 2026. As home to the first Moxy hotel in Northern New England, this is a chance to be part of something new from the very beginning - welcoming guests to a vibrant stay steps from Thompson's Point's concerts, events, dining, and culture.
We're opening something bold, fresh, and full of energy in Portland-and we're looking for a Front Desk Supervisor who can lead from the front.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll guide our Front Office and Night Audit teams while also supporting a lively, guest-facing environment that includes bar service operations and bartending support as needed. You'll help shape how guests are welcomed, served, and remembered from day one.
If you're a natural leader who thrives in fast-paced settings, enjoys people, and has both front desk and bartending experience, this is your chance to help build something from the ground up.
What You'll Be Doing (aka leading the guest experience):
  • Leading and supporting Front Desk and Night Audit teams day-to-day
  • Coaching, training, and developing associates to deliver excellent service
  • Overseeing smooth check-in, check-out, reservations, and guest interactions
  • Ensuring quality service and responsible alcohol compliance
  • Ensuring consistent brand and Colwen service standards across all guest touchpoints
  • Handling guest concerns quickly, professionally, and with care
  • Monitoring occupancy, billing accuracy, and daily reporting
  • Supporting budgeting, payroll review, and financial controls
  • Driving continuous improvement in service, efficiency, and team performance
  • Maintaining strict key control, safety, and security standards
  • Collaborating across departments to ensure seamless guest experiences

You'll Fit Right In If You:
  • Are a confident, hands-on leader who leads by example
  • Have front desk and bartending experience in a hospitality setting
  • Stay calm, organized, and solution-focused under pressure
  • Love working with people and building strong teams
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across departments
  • Enjoy coaching and developing others
  • Are detail-oriented and financially responsible
  • Are comfortable working varied schedules (days, nights, weekends, holidays)

Bonus Points If You Have:
  • Previous supervisory experience in a hotel environment
  • Experience in both front office and bar/service operations
  • Brand hotel experience

Why You'll Love This Role:
  • You'll be part of a brand-new hotel opening-build the team, culture, and standards from scratch
  • A unique leadership role that blends front office operations + guest service + bar experience
  • Real influence over how the guest experience comes to life
  • Opportunity to mentor and develop a high-energy team
  • Fast-paced, social, and never boring environment

Perks & Benefits (we take care of our crew):
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • Company-funded HRA & Flexible Spending Accounts
  • 401(k) with employer match (Traditional & Roth)
  • Paid Time Off
  • Hotel discounts for you and your family
  • Discounts on travel, entertainment, and retail
  • Training, development, and career advancement opportunities
