Cybersecurity Network Cloud Engineer

About your role:

You will be responsible for defining and advancing the organization's enterprise network security architecture and long-term cybersecurity strategy. You will be a senior technical leader, driving innovation, large-scale security architecture initiatives, and the adoption of next-generation security capabilities across the enterprise.

This role requires deep expertise in network security architecture, threat defense, Zero Trust principles, and large-scale security strategy, combined with the ability to influence technical direction across multiple security domains and business functions.

You will partner closely with executive leadership, engineering teams, and architecture groups to ensure the organization maintains a resilient, scalable, and modern network security posture across hybrid infrastructure including on-premise data centers, multi-cloud platforms, and modern application environments.

What you'll do:

Governance & Policy Engineering

  • Drive the modernization of network security governance processes by improving consistency, scalability, transparency, and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with architecture, engineering, risk, and business stakeholders to translate security requirements into scalable controls and automated governance capabilities that improve risk-based decision-making

Automation & Engineering Excellence

  • Identify and lead opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation, workflow optimization, and engineering-led solutions.
  • Promote the adoption of Policy-as-Code, Process-as-Code, and other scalable approaches that improve governance effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Establish repeatable, measurable, and automated methods for evaluating security controls, policy compliance, and governance outcomes.

AI-Enabled Security Transformation

  • Lead initiatives that leverage AI-assisted workflows to simplify complex analysis, enhance operational effectiveness, and improve security outcomes.
  • Influence the organization's long-term strategy for integrating AI-driven automation into network security governance and control management processes.
  • Establish best practices for applying AI technologies to improve scalability, efficiency, and consistency across network security functions.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • 8+ years of experience in network security engineering or network infrastructure security.
  • 8+ years' experience securing environments across: AWS / Azure / GCP networking, Kubernetes networking models, containerized infrastructure, software-defined networking
  • 8+ years hands-on experience with next-generation firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, Cisco), IDS/IPS technologies (Snort, Suricata, vendor platforms),Network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, routing, switching), Network packet analysis (Wireshark, tcpdump), VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN), DNS security, Network segmentation and micro segmentation
  • Serve as the technical authority for network security architecture and design across all environments including: Data center, Enterprise network, Cloud infrastructure, Hybrid and multi-cloud architectures
  • Experience defining metrics and measurement frameworks that demonstrate security control effectiveness and governance maturity.
  • Experience developing ai-enabled automated approaches for policy evaluation, security governance, compliance validation, or risk analysis.
  • Experience implementing or promoting Policy-as-Code, Process-as-Code, or other engineering-led governance methodologies.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • CISA, CISM, CISSP, CCSP, or similar certifications

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

Travel:

  • Approximately 10% travel off-site or to other office locations is expected.

Salary Range

$145,000.00 - $240,000.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
