Job description

Job Title: Manager, Marketing & Communications

Location: Remote

Company: X-Bow Systems

Title and compensation commensurate with experience.

About X-Bow

X-Bow is a U.S. non-traditional manufacturer of solid rocket motors (SRMs), sub-orbital launch solutions, energetics, composites, and advanced defense technologies. With global stockpiles of critical defense systems rapidly depleting, we are uniquely positioned to accelerate the transition from R&D to full-scale production-delivering scalable solutions at the speed of relevance for national security missions.

As we enter a pivotal growth phase, we are building the team that will define how X-Bow is understood across stakeholders at this critical inflection point.

About This Role

You will work directly with the Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications to build and execute our marketing and communications strategies. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on, adaptable professional who is fluent-and forward-leaning-in AI-driven marketing and communications tools, and who thrives wearing multiple hats in a fast-scaling environment.

You'll be a utility player, comfortable flexing across media relations, executive communications, content creation, sales collateral, events, and investor relations support. You'll collaborate closely with Business Development, Program Management, and other cross-functional teams. As the team grows, you'll have the opportunity to specialize and help define future roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies (e.g., generative content platforms, AI-powered analytics, prompt engineering, workflow automation) to accelerate content creation, audience targeting, and communications workflows
  • Help develop and maintain X-Bow's core narrative and messaging across audiences-customers, government, investors, and media-ensuring consistency across all channels and touchpoints
  • Draft executive communications including talking points, presentations, announcements, and briefing materials; manage the communications calendar around key company milestones
  • Coordinate day-to-day with our PR and creative agencies on timing, messaging, press releases, statements, media responses, and content development across digital channels (website, social media, email)
  • Monitor media coverage and flag relevant industry and competitive developments
  • Create and maintain marketing collateral, presentations, and event materials in close partnership with Business Development and Program Management teams
  • Support trade show, conference, and industry event planning and execution
  • Assist in preparing investor-facing materials including presentations, FAQs, and written updates; support coordination and logistics for stakeholder and investor touchpoints
  • Support company-wide announcements, leadership updates, and employee-facing messaging in collaboration with team members across the communications function

What We Are Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Affairs, Journalism, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5–8 years of experience across marketing, corporate communications, public affairs, or a closely related function
  • Demonstrated expertise in AI-driven marketing and communications tools (e.g., generative AI for content, AI-powered analytics, workflow automation), with a proven ability to integrate them into day-to-day workflows and strategy
  • Exceptional writer with the ability to shift from a crisp press release to an investor talking point to an internal all-hands message
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment
  • Comfortable operating at both the strategic and executional level-you can help shape the plan and then go do the work yourself
  • Strong instincts for message discipline, brand consistency, and editorial judgment with limited supervision
  • U.S. citizenship required (ITAR compliance)

Preferred

  • Experience in defense, aerospace, deep tech, or other highly technical industries
  • Experience managing PR, creative, or marketing agency relationships
  • Exposure to investor relations, government relations, or public affairs functions
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance

Growth & Opportunity

This role is intentionally broad. As X-Bow continues to scale and expand its marketing and communications function, this role will evolve. The right person will have the opportunity to shape their own lane and grow into a more senior position as the team grows. You'll be joining at a moment of extraordinary impact and visibility.

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including long-term incentive opportunities.

X-Bow is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment decisions are made on the basis of merit, qualifications, and competence without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, veteran status, disability, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
