Converted Freighters Chief Engineering Senior Manager (Manager Level L)

The Boeing Global Services (BGS) and the Commercial Modifications Engineering Team is seeking a Converted Freighters Chief Engineering Senior Manager (Manager Level L) to support our 737/767 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF) Program in Long Beach, CA.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the engineering execution, integration, technical integrity, and safety across the 737-800BCF and 767-300BCF product lines. The BCF Team consists of engineers from around the world across all engineering disciplines including structures stress and design, electrical, payloads, aircraft systems, and project managers.

Our products are used by airlines around the world to rapidly transport cargo such as fresh food, humanitarian supplies, and e-commerce. We connect the world and improve people's lives by enabling access to critical goods.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage employees and first-level managers performing activities within multiple (2 or more) Engineering disciplines.
  • Responsible for all technical configuration, engineering quality, and Product Integrity and Safety aspects of BCF products.
  • Lead cross-functional engineering integration for BCF products across all engineering disciplines including structures, mechanical systems, electrical, and payloads.
  • Lead definition of engineering requirements, resources, and critical skills needed for BCF products.
  • Lead the implementation of engineering-based initiatives to improve safety and quality.
  • Create and maintain a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 3+ years of experience working cross-functionally across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • 3+ years of experience leading an engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with commercial aircraft modifications and/or freighter conversions.
  • Experience working with program management and interfacing with key stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting aftermarket modifications.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated customer focus.
  • Strategic thinking and visionary leader.
