POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Manager establishes financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.
WHO YOU'LL REPORT TO:
The Accounting Manager reports to the Controller - Management.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review property financial statements to ensure accurate reporting. Included but not limited to utility accruals, reclasses, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Maintain monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting requirements and submit financial packets related to property operations and financial information to investors and lenders.
  • Assist in the collaboration and completion of the annual budgets.
  • Finalize year-end financials for submission to the controller and owner for final review.
  • Compile and send year-end workpapers to auditors and work together to address questions or open items that arise.
  • Participate in weekly financial review meetings to discuss underperforming properties in region with upper management and site managers.
  • Work closely with site managers related to the financial needs of the properties.
  • Work closely with other departments and site managers regularly to ensure accurate financials and completion of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Assist in the review and approval of daily banking activities.
  • Participate in the weekly selection of invoices to pay. Includes cash management to ensure required payments are met and limit overdrafts.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong computer skills required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of intermediate level experience a plus.
  • Experience in Yardi Voyager or RealPage a plus.
  • Experience in rental housing management a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and insurance.
