Job description

IT Business Analysis (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Quincy, MA): The individual contributor in this role will architect, design and deliver advanced solutions that drive the responsible adoption and scaling of emerging technologies - including AI, Digital, and Quantum - across the enterprise. The position will play a key role in mobilizing business opportunities, developing use cases, and supporting central AI platforms, services, best practices, and standards. Specific duties include: architecting, designing, and delivering innovative solutions as part of the Emerging Tech COE, driving the adoption and scaling of AI capabilities across multiple business lines and disciplines; leading the identification, development, and promotion of AI-powered business use cases, ensuring that emerging technologies deliver measurable impact and value for the organization; acting as a visionary educator and promoter for the future of emerging technology, championing responsible AI, digital, and quantum innovation, and inspiring teams to embrace new platforms and solutions; demonstrating hands-on experience with core AI platforms that serve as the technological backbone of the company, enabling scalable, sharable AI capabilities across diverse functions and teams; driving the future of innovation by mobilizing business units, educating stakeholders, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and experimentation in emerging technologies; evaluating, benchmarking, and onboarding new AI technologies, ensuring their integration aligns with strategic direction, governance standards, and the broader mission of the Emerging Tech COE; collaborating with business unit management to analyze requirements, asking probing questions to surface real needs and opportunities for AI-driven transformation; providing subject matter expertise on production processes, controls, and operations, with a focus on leveraging AI to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance; facilitating education, inspiration, and use-case opportunity identification for emerging tech services; advise on training curriculum and pathways for AI and digital innovation; communicating decisions and recommendations clearly to peers, development teams, business stakeholders, and senior IT leadership, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement; guiding and supporting project staff, reviewing work and providing recommendations to ensure deliverables meet business and technical requirements;; overseeing requirements validation with development and QA teams, ensuring new functionality meets business needs and drives future innovation; leading project management activities for multiple, simultaneous initiatives, including planning, resource allocation, progress tracking, risk management, and stakeholder communication to ensure timely and successful delivery of emerging technology solutions; and identifying and defining define production implementation requirements, including those specific to emerging technology platforms (AI, Digital, Quantum). Hybrid remote telecommuting permitted pursuant to company policy.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent in Management Science, Project Management, Information Technology, or relevant field of study plus 7 years of proven experience as Business Analyst or in any occupation providing relevant analytical experience in financial services industry. Alternatively, the Employer will accept a master's degree, or its equivalent in Management Science, Project Management, Information Technology, or relevant field of study plus 4 years of proven experience as Business Analyst or in any occupation providing relevant analytical experience in financial services industry.
Must have: Proven analysis skills at both the business level (analyzing the business process, workflows, and operations) and at the information level (how data and information is stored and maintained); Strong critical thinking skills, including considering stakeholder needs and asking probing questions until the real needs are surfaced and understood; Proven experience conducting cost-benefit and impact analyses (e.g., ROI, risk assessments); Proven experience determining the root cause of any data-related issues; Experience identifying opportunities for data management improvements; Ability to analyze and interpret large and complex datasets in varying formats to validate completeness, integrity, and accuracy of data; Proven ability to produce clear and compelling reports for different audiences; Experience using tools like Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau; Experience eliciting, document, and refine business requirements and using techniques like use cases, user stories, and wireframes; Experience validating requirements and support testing processes; Ability to create visual models that support analyses, such as workflow diagrams or wireframe prototypes; Experience creating workflow diagrams, BPMN charts, and wireframe prototypes; Demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycles, APIs, databases, and system architecture; Strong technology insights with demonstrated ability to work across business lines; Familiarity with AI integration and automation tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot); Strong interpersonal communication, collaboration, facilitation, presentation, and negotiation skills; Ability to Collaborate effectively across business lines and technical teams; Ability to work independently and connect the dots to identify themes and common needs; Demonstrated experience working in an environment managing multiple, concurrent deliverables with shifting priorities, demands, and timelines; Familiarity with Agile methodology, and ability to use agile tools like JIRA . Salary Range:
$161,803 - $200,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
