Job description

We're in this for the greater good at ParetoHealth. Our mission is collective greatness, nothing less will do. Our team is a single force united in the drive to transform employee health benefits.

The company was founded in 2011 to help small and medium-sized businesses fight the rising cost of employee health benefits. We blazed the trail with financing innovations that reduce the risks in self-insurance and deliver significant savings—and we continue to lead with a growing ecosystem of partners and world-class cost control solutions.

But success is measured by more than dollars alone and we measure ours by the good that comes from knowing that every client and all their employees can count on effective, affordable healthcare for years to come.

Please note that ParetoHealth does not provide employment visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship both now or in the future.

Position Summary:

The Growth team at Pareto plays a central role in shaping the company's growth strategy, enabling commercial success, and supporting executive team decision-making. We partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to explore new growth opportunities, evaluate strategic partnerships, and translate complex analysis into clear, actionable direction.

The Director, Growth Strategy will play a pivotal role in advancing Pareto's growth strategy and supporting top-priority strategic initiatives with high executive visibility. This role is ideal for a highly analytical, structured thinker with strong executive presence who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys both identifying key business and market insights and partnering with the internal team to operationalize and drive impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Leveraging prior experience in management consulting, banking, corporate development, and/or corporate strategy, you will help define strategy, support execution, and drive measurable business outcomes.

You will work closely with executive leadership, commercial teams, and cross-functional partners to evaluate opportunities, align teams, and operationalize decisions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support executive leadership and Board of Directors discussions, including preparation of high-quality analyses and board slides
  • Lead and support enterprise-level strategic initiatives, including regional growth initiatives, partnerships, and new opportunities
  • Independently scope strategic problems, develop structured workplans, and drive projects from analysis through recommendation and execution
  • Partner closely with commercial, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment and execution of strategic priorities
  • Size opportunities and business impact using rigorous quantitative analysis and financial modeling.
  • Develop clear, compelling executive narratives and presentations, simplifying complex topics for senior stakeholders
  • Monitor outcomes, build reporting, and manage performance metrics to ensure strategies translate into results. Partner closely with Rev Ops team to operationalize insights and align to Sales processes and tracking.
  • Mentor and develop more junior team members as a colleague, fostering structured thinking and high-quality delivery. Opportunity to grow into people manager role with direct reports.

Required Qualifications / Skills:

  • 8-10 years of experience in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, with background in management consulting, investment banking, corporate development, and/or corporate strategy
  • Strong preference for candidates who have consulting or banking experience followed by in-house experience
  • Exceptional structured problem-solving and quantitative skills, including ability to derive insights from complex data
  • Demonstrated expertise in storyboarding, executive storytelling, and presentation development, including facilitating live executive discussions
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to listen, synthesize, influence, and communicate clearly
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity; ability to simplify complex, cross-functional challenges into clear strategic direction
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and work effectively in a matrixed organization
  • Experience leading significant workstreams or owning projects end-to-end, especially in coordination with go-to-market / commercial team
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Experience in healthcare, specifically healthcare insurance, benefits, or payer-related segments preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; strong attention to detail and polish

Perks & Benefits:

  • Fully paid medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Flexible PTO
  • 401k company contribution
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Professional development allowance
  • Transportation allowance and daily parking reimbursement
  • Engaging hybrid work environment
We are guided by our values:

Fire in the belly

The drive to learn, to improve, and to deliver outstanding value every day.

See the field

The ability to see the big picture and prepare to meet tomorrow's needs.

The passion to produce at higher rates and to the highest standards.
