Global Head of Indirect Tax (VP)

Lead the Future of Global Indirect Tax Compliance
World Fuel is seeking a transformational Vice President, Indirect Tax to lead and modernize our global indirect tax organization.
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for defining and executing the global strategy for indirect tax compliance across a complex, multinational business operating in highly regulated markets. The successful candidate will oversee a global team managing high-volume indirect tax compliance obligations while driving operational excellence, technology innovation, governance, and risk management.
Reporting to senior finance leadership, the VP, Indirect Tax will serve as the organization's senior authority on indirect tax matters, partnering closely with executive stakeholders to ensure compliance, scalability, and business alignment in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

  • Develop and execute the global vision, strategy, and operating model for indirect tax compliance.

What You'll Bring
Experience
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in indirect tax, tax compliance, tax governance, or finance leadership roles.
  • Significant leadership experience within a multinational organization.
  • Deep expertise in U.S. indirect taxes, including sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, jet fuel tax, motor fuel tax, and related compliance requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of international indirect tax frameworks, including VAT, GST, HST, mineral oil taxes, and similar regimes.
  • Proven experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Demonstrated success driving organizational transformation, process optimization, and technology adoption.
Technical & Leadership Capabilities
  • Expertise designing tax governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of tax technology platforms, automation, analytics, and reporting solutions.
