Job Description:
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for leading and managing the company-wide safety and compliance program for Air Control Concepts. This role partners with Operations, Human Resources, Facilities, and leadership teams to promote a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, reduce workplace incidents, and support continuous operational improvement across all locations.ย 
The EHS Manager develops and implements safety programs, conducts audits and investigations, oversees training initiatives, and drives accountability for maintaining safe working environments across field operations, warehouses, offices, and facilities.ย 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety Program Managementย 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with OSHA and applicable state regulations.ย 
  • Lead initiatives focused on hazard prevention, risk reduction, and continuous safety improvement.ย ย 
  • Chair and coordinate Company Safety Committee meetings, action tracking, and follow-up activities.ย ย 
  • Maintain emergency preparedness and infectious disease prevention programs.ย ย 
Regulatory Complianceย 
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, state safety plans, and company safety standards across all operating locations.ย ย 
  • Manage OSHA recordkeeping requirements, including OSHA 300/300A/301 logs and required reporting.ย ย 
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and compliance assessments; track and verify completion of corrective actions.ย ย 
  • Maintain safety documentation, SDS records, required postings, and regulatory retention requirements.ย ย 
Incident Management & Risk Reductionย 
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.ย ย 
  • Promote proactive reporting of hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.ย ย 
  • Partner with Operations, HR, and Insurance teams on claims management, return-to-work coordination, and loss prevention strategies.ย ย 
  • Support initiatives to improve safety performance metrics, reduce claim costs, and improve EMR performance.ย ย 
Training & Employee Engagementย 
  • Develop and manage safety training programs and training matrices for employees and leadership.ย ย 
  • Coordinate required safety certifications and refresher training.ย ย 
  • Deliver coaching, communication, and field support to reinforce company safety expectations and accountability.ย ย 
  • Promote employee engagement and participation in safety initiatives.ย ย 
Field, Fleet & Facility Safetyย 
  • Conduct jobsite, warehouse, office, and facility inspections to identify and mitigate safety risks.ย ย 
  • Oversee driver safety and motor vehicle record (MVR) review processes.ย ย 
  • Coordinate with Facilities and Operations regarding emergency response readiness, equipment safety, and site-specific safety planning.ย ย 
  • Support contractor and vendor safety qualification and onboarding processes.ย ย 
Reporting & Analyticsย 
  • Monitor and report key safety performance indicators, including TRIR, DART, training completion, corrective action status, and incident trends.ย ย 
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly safety reports for leadership review.ย ย 
  • Assist with implementation and administration of safety tracking systems and reporting tools.ย ย 

Experience and Requirements:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.ย ย 
  • 5โ€“10+ years of progressive EHS experience in construction, service, industrial, or multi-site environments.ย ย 
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, incident investigation practices, and safety management systems.ย ย 
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification required.ย ย 
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or equivalent preferred.ย ย 
  • Experience managing audits, inspections, corrective actions, and safety training programs.ย ย 
  • Familiarity with workersโ€™ compensation, claims management, and insurance partnership processes preferred.ย ย 
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.ย ย 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.ย ย 
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to travel regularly.ย ย 

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Ability to visit active job sites, warehouses, and operational facilities.ย ย 
  • Ability to walk job sites, climb ladders, and work in industrial environments while using appropriate PPE.ย ย 
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds.ย ย 
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, and conducting inspections may be required.ย ย
