POSITION SUMMARY:
The Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager will lead efforts to foster a culture of safety and drive continuous improvement (CI) across our manufacturing facility while ensuring compliance with all environmental requirements. As the subject matter expert on environmental, health, and safety, you will ensure strict compliance with regulations while enhancing operational efficiency. You will design and deliver comprehensive environmental, health, and safety training programs, incorporating Continuous Improvement (CI) principles to strengthen and evolve our practices. In this role, you will embody our value of working safely, where safety is not just a requirement but a fundamental part of our culture and a condition of employment.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops short and long-term environmental, health, and safety strategies to protect the well-being of BrassCraft employees, contractors, visitors, vendors, and the community
  • Evaluate current or proposed activities, operations, equipment, and processes and make recommendations to minimize health and safety risks
  • Monitors environmental, health, and safety leading indicators and KPIs and proactively formulates plans to address risks and opportunities
  • Coordinates the ongoing development, communication, and implementation of programs and policies
  • Develops and delivers environmental, health, and safety training in accordance with required regulations and the company Safety Management System (SMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS)
  • Lead, manage, and monitor activities of the Health & Safety Committee in partnership with the plant leadership team
  • Acts as primary designate to respond to safety-related issues and creates plans to correct hazards
  • Conducts industrial hygiene monitoring and emergency drills
  • Coordinates incident response, including review of incident reports, conducting incident investigations, tracking and analyzing injury/incident data, and maintaining OSHA logs
  • The ability to conduct risk assessments that includes problem solving skills to develop corrective actions to mitigate risk to ensure compliance with work tasks, conditions, SOPs and regulations.
  • Collaborates with peers within the plant and across plants to standardize programs and advance best practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Science in a technical field
  • 5+ years' experience in an Environmental, Health, and Safety leadership role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in developing and conducting a comprehensive Job Safety Analysis (JSA) program and proactively mitigating identified risks
  • Experience in corporate policies, workers compensation, OSHA, ADA and other relevant legislation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) certification
  • Development, management, and/or auditing of ISO14001 Environmental Management System
  • OSHA 30-hour general industry certification
  • Fundamental knowledge and demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles, including kaizen event facilitation and structured problem-solving processes and applications, including A3, 5 Why, and/or 8D methodologies
  • Familiarity with plumbing industry products and processes, including brass machining, steel welding/fabrication, powder coating, annealing, and automated and manual assembly and distribution processes
  • Fundamental understanding of, and demonstrated application of, ergonomics programs, including risk assessment, remediation, and standardization
  • Demonstrated successful change management of initiatives impacting cross-functional stakeholders: Driving large-scale change where needed to build upon a culture of safety

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships while working collaboratively with cross-functional business teams
  • Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines
  • Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, demonstrating flexibility, independence, and initiative
  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite
