Job description

The Director of Marketing is responsible for building and leading a modern, story-focused marketing organization that drives awareness, attendance, engagement, and long-term brand value across Memoir’s portfolio of experiences.

This role is both strategic and hands-on. The successful candidate will develop marketing and content strategy, build systems and processes, establish best practices, manage vendor relationships, and personally execute campaigns when necessary.

This position is expected to stay at the forefront of emerging marketing practices, technology, consumer behavior trends, AI-enabled workflows, automation, and audience development strategies. The Director of Marketing will continually evolve Memoir’s marketing capabilities to create competitive advantages and measurable business outcomes.

This role is responsible for establishing a documented marketing operating system and stewarding the creation of highly engaging content that connects people to our mission. The ideal candidate blends marketing expertise and structure with a passion to build new systems in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment within the attractions and entertainment industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the marketing-driven revenue performance across Memoir experiences.
  • Develop and execute annual and event-specific marketing plans.
  • Guide content strategy, storytelling, and creative direction across all Memoir brands and experiences.
  • Lead development of annual marketing roadmaps, campaign calendars, and market launch strategies for new cities, venues, and experiences.
  • Oversee paid media strategy, marketing analytics, attribution, and optimization of marketing spend.
  • Own CRM, email, SMS, customer lifecycle, retention, and audience segmentation strategies.
  • Develop earned media, public relations, partnership, and community engagement strategies.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging marketing technologies, AI-enabled workflows, and innovative audience engagement strategies.
  • Build and lead Memoir's marketing organization, including talent development, vendor management, operating processes, and performance reporting.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Creative, Production, Finance, and Executive Leadership to support business growth and organizational objectives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years of progressively responsible marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging, original content.
  • Demonstrated success driving measurable revenue growth.
  • Experience managing paid media budgets and performance campaigns.
  • Experience building and executing multi-channel marketing strategies.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Experience with CRM, email marketing, SMS marketing, and marketing automation platforms.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Willingness to be hands-on and execute work directly when needed.

Preferred:

  • Experience in attractions, entertainment, hospitality, tourism, live events, ticketed experiences, festivals, sports, or destination marketing.
  • Experience launching products, events, or experiences in multiple markets.
  • Familiarity with ticketing platforms and consumer event marketing.
  • Experience leading high-growth marketing organizations.
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled marketing workflows.
  • Knowledge of attribution modeling, audience analytics, and customer journey optimization.
  • Experience managing external agencies and creative partners.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, Klaviyo, GA4, Meta Business Manager, and similar platforms.

Success Measurements

  • Stewarding the creation of highly engaging content.
  • Demonstrate robust content creation and distribution across Memoir’s existing channels and expansion into new platforms.
  • Increase event attendance and ticket revenue across the portfolio.
  • Improve customer acquisition efficiency and return on ad spend.
  • Establish a documented marketing operating system.
  • Build scalable CRM and lifecycle marketing programs.
  • Develop meaningful audience growth across owned channels.
  • Implement marketing dashboards and attribution reporting.
  • Launch at least one significant new growth initiative or channel.

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Work location: Hybrid with two days per week in our Orlando, FL office location
  • Travel: Occasional travel commitments may be required for site familiarization and business development
