Position Summary


The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of Discover
Denton’s digital marketing initiatives and online presence. This position supports destination awareness, visitor
engagement, and tourism growth through strategic website management, social media oversight, digital
campaigns, email marketing, content distribution, and audience engagement strategies.


As part of a Destination Management & Marketing Organization (DMMO), this role supports Discover Denton’s
mission by leveraging digital platforms and technology to promote Denton as a vibrant and competitive
destination. The Digital Marketing Manager works collaboratively across departments and with community
partners to ensure consistent brand messaging, compelling storytelling, and effective audience engagement
across all digital channels.


The position oversees website content management, CRM/CMS administration, digital advertising support, email
marketing initiatives, social media management, analytics reporting, and digital partner engagement
opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Website & Digital Platform Management Manage and maintain the Discover Denton website, including content updates, partner listings, event calendars, landing pages, and visitor-facing information.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for the organization’s website, CMS, and CRM/database systems.
  • Create, edit, publish, and optimize website content to ensure consistency with organizational goals, brand
    standards, and visitor engagement strategies.
  • Support web-related initiatives including booking tools, digital integrations, advertising placements, and
    user experience enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to maintain accurate and timely digital content.


Social Media & Audience Engagement 


  • Manage Discover Denton’s social media platforms including content planning, scheduling, publishing,
    audience engagement, and community management.
  • Develop and implement social media campaigns that support destination marketing initiatives, events,
    tourism promotion, and organizational priorities.
  • Monitor social media trends, audience insights, and engagement metrics to optimize content effectiveness
    and audience growth.
  • Maintain brand consistency and messaging across all digital communication channels.


Digital Marketing & Content Support

  • Assist in the development and execution of digital marketing campaigns, email marketing initiatives,
    newsletters, advertising campaigns, and promotional materials.
  • Support digital storytelling efforts through content coordination, campaign execution, and collaboration
    with the Creative Marketing Manager and marketing team.
  • Coordinate digital marketing opportunities for partners including enhanced listings, banner advertising,
    sponsored content, and promotional placements.
  • Maintain and organize digital asset libraries including photography, video, and marketing resources.


Analytics, Reporting & Optimization

  • Track and analyze website traffic, digital advertising performance, SEO/SEM metrics, email engagement,
    and social media analytics.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and performance summaries for leadership, board reporting, and
    organizational planning.
  • Provide recommendations to improve digital engagement, campaign performance, audience growth, and
    overall marketing effectiveness.
  • Research emerging digital trends, technologies, and best practices to support organizational innovation
    and strategic growth.


Partnership & Organizational Collaboration

  • Collaborate with hospitality partners, attractions, event organizers, and community stakeholders to support online promotion of destination experiences and events.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal departments, vendors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Represent Discover Denton professionally at organizational meetings, events, and community functions.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned to support organizational priorities.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Hospitality, Tourism, or a
    related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in digital marketing, destination marketing, social media
    management, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience working within a Destination Management Organization (DMO/DMMO), hospitality
    organization, tourism entity, or related industry preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, social media management, website administration, and
    audience engagement practices.
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM principles, email marketing platforms, content management systems (CMS),
    customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and analytics tools.
  • Experience with WordPress, Simpleview, or similar tourism-related CMS/CRM platforms preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and digital marketing technologies.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and independently while maintaining attention to detail and brand consistency.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, partners, and
    stakeholders.
  • Ability to exercise professionalism, discretion, sound judgment, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.


Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment with regular use of computers and digital technology
    platforms.
  • Frequent local travel and occasional regional travel may be required.
  • Evening, holiday, and weekend work may be required based on organizational events, campaigns, and
    destination activities.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and digital content management may be required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
