Mitigation Estimator
Fire & Water Cleanup & Restoration
Position Overview
The Mitigation Estimator is responsible for writing, managing, and supporting mitigation estimates across fire, water, mold, and biohazard losses. This role requires strong proficiency in Xactimate, Symbility, and other estimating software platforms used by insurance carriers and contractors, along with accurate scope development and detailed documentation in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
This position operates within a centralized estimating model designed to improve consistency, efficiency, and scalability across multiple office locations. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of supporting multiple teams while maintaining compliance with carrier and program requirements.
Preference will be given to candidates with Third-Party Administrator (TPA) program experience and familiarity with carrier guidelines, audit standards, and program requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Mitigation Estimating & File Management
  • Write and manage mitigation estimates for fire, water, mold, and biohazard losses
  • Ensure accurate scope development and proper documentation of job files
  • Maintain compliance with carrier guidelines and estimating standards
  • Support high-volume estimating across multiple locations
Xactimate & Documentation
  • Prepare detailed estimates using Xactimate, Symbility, and other estimating software platforms used by insurance carriers and contractors
  • Ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and properly supported
  • Maintain consistent documentation practices across all files
  • Assist with estimate revisions and carrier reviews as needed
TPA / Carrier Compliance
  • Follow TPA program guidelines and requirements
  • Preferred familiarity with programs such as Contractor Connection, Sedgwick, Alacrity, and similar platforms
  • Support audit readiness and compliance standards for assigned jobs
  • Ensure adherence to carrier-specific estimating protocols
Operational Support
  • Collaborate with production and office teams to ensure timely job flow
  • Communicate with internal teams regarding scope questions and file clarity
  • Support consistency in estimating practices across all locations
  • Assist in improving estimating workflows and standardization efforts
Administrative & Other Duties
  • Maintain accurate job file records and estimating documentation
  • Participate in process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support estimating operations and company needs
Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in Xactimate, Symbility, and other estimating software platforms used by insurance carriers and contractors (required)
  • Experience in mitigation estimating preferred, including fire, water, mold, and biohazard losses
  • TPA program experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding of carrier guidelines and estimate review processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems
  • Ability to work independently and within a centralized team structure
  • Strong communication skills and professional collaboration ability
