Job description

About Sony Music Entertainment
At Sony Music Entertainment, we fuel the creative journey. We've played a pioneering role in music history, from the first-ever music label to the invention of the flat disc record. We've nurtured some of music's most iconic artists and produced some of the most influential recordings of all time.
Today, we work in more than 70 countries, supporting a diverse roster of international superstars, developing and independent artists, and visionary creators. From our position at the intersection of music, entertainment, and technology, we bring imagination and expertise to the newest products and platforms, embrace new business models, employ breakthrough tools, and provide powerful insights that help our artists push creative boundaries and reach new audiences. In everything we do, we're committed to artistic integrity, transparency, and entrepreneurship.
Sony Music Entertainment is a member of the Sony family of global companies.
As Manager, Analytics & Automation, Global Business Development & Digital Strategy, you will join an international team of data-savvy negotiators and business analysts who execute content distribution partnerships with a broad range of digital partners, from the largest global companies to emerging start-ups. You will be a critical part of the team and be exposed to digital distribution deal structures and strategies.
You will be expected to take advanced analytical responsibility and bring your findings and perspectives on global licensing negotiations and strategic revenue growth initiatives across music, video, UGC, social, emerging digital verticals, and technology companies. You will be responsible for forecasting revenue, developing monetization scenarios based on varying sets of assumptions, modelling deal economics, analyzing pricing, benchmarking and designing KPIs. Your work will support commercial recommendations that directly influence multi-year, high-value, time-sensitive global agreements. Equally, you will be tasked with leveraging your skills and experience to accelerate the team's analytical capabilities, evaluate and introduce AI-powered solutions, and rethink workflows to bring speed, accuracy, scalability, and insight generation to the next level. This role is for builders: you will architect agentic AI workflows, automate what others accept as manual, and challenge long-standing processes with creative solutions.
This is a rare opportunity to join a major music label in exciting times, to be ahead of the curve on how customers connect with the music they love, and to contribute to business partnerships that benefit Sony Music's entire artist roster, while taking an active part in pivoting to AI-augmented workflows.
You will join a team of professionals who represent a variety of backgrounds, perspectives and skills. We embrace diversity, equal opportunity and progress in a serious way.
What you'll do:
  • Decision support for negotiations: design and own robust revenue planning models supporting global and regional licensing projects across a broad range of digital distribution partnerships.
  • Identify needs and challenge outdated processes within the team; propose alternative solutions and build prototypes to evaluate them. Redesign core analytical workflows and unlock efficiencies using modern tools. Build repeatable frameworks to monitor partner performance. Experiment with agentic AI systems that automate analysis, forecasting, and partner reporting end-to-end.
  • Collaborate with other functions and teams on large-scale financial and usage datasets to automate recurring analyses and improve data integrity and reconciliation.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management, distil complex analyses into actionable commercial insights, influence decision-making without formal authority through credibility, clarity, and rigor.
  • Track country-by-country KPIs, produce forward-looking market assessments
  • Interface with SME's local teams around the world to collect and share data and insights for analysis.
Who you are:
  • You have at least an undergraduate degree with 2+ years' work experience in banking, finance, consulting, entertainment or technology companies. International experience is a plus.
  • You demonstrate method, experience and rigor in financial analysis and modelling, presenting both inputs and outcomes clearly, thoroughly and concisely. Excel proficiency in financial modelling is essential, and knowledge of SQL, data visualization (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau) and ETL (e.g., Alteryx) are highly advised.
  • You are also an AI-first thinker who uses LLMs, automation tools, agentic frameworks, and code-based workflows.

What we give you:
  • You join an inclusive, collaborative and global community where you have the opportunity to channel your passion every day
  • A modern office environment designed to foster productivity, creativity, and teamwork empowering you to bring your best
  • An attractive and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life & disability coverage, and 401K + employer matching
  • Voluntary benefits like company-paid identity theft protection and resources for pets, mental health and meditation resources, industry-leading fertility coverage, fully paid leave for childbirth or bonding, fully paid leave for caregivers, programs for loved ones with developmental disabilities and neurodiversity, subsidized back-up child and elder care, and reimbursement for adoption, surrogacy, tuition, and student loans
  • Investment in your professional growth and development enabling you to thrive in our vibrant community.
  • The space to accelerate progress, positively disrupt, and create what happens next
  • Time off for a winter recess
